Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

I am printing using a mac. After one page, the printer goes idle for no apparent reason. I quit the job, start over again, and after every page the printer says it has a paper jam, although it is not true. I press the OK button just to hear many noises, with no results. Every once in a while, the printer screen says that the tray is empty, although that's also not true. I quitted printing wirelessly, so I connected the printer to my computer via a USB cable. Exactly the same things happen. I have to print pages one by one, but I am VERY frustrated. It this behavior normal.

SOURCE: HP P3015 Installed new 500 sheet

It sounds like you have had a faulty tray from the get go. Sometimes they are damaged right from the factory, or just not properly formed by the molds that make them. I am hoping it wasn't all that long ago you purchased the new tray and can return it / exchange it for another one. At this point I hope it didn't do any harm to the machine though with all the jamming, but chances are it did not.

Thanks,
Tim

Won't print, no error messages. no indication anything is wrong, ready light is on, but nothing happens. If I go to printer menu, it says jobs stopped. When I hit start jobs, it says waiting for printer......

Go into the printer menu and try to print the configuration page. If it doesn't, remove the network or USB cable and try again. If the configuration pages print, see if you can print the event log. That has a reasonable explanation of what is happening.
If you can print the config and event logs, there is nothing wrong with the printer. Delete the printer from your PC and reinstall the drivers.

Try to check your printer cable if it is working or in the printer settings try to see if the exact port was chosen. If your problem still exist you can start a fresh install of your printer, uninstall first the previous printer then install your printer again.

F380 not printing on mac reason: hp aio print2 pde plug-in

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

HP 7210 all-in-one is having trouble printing. At best, will print just the first inch or so of the document---at worst, prints only a few symbols at the top, or prints a meaningless barcode-like pattern,...

It was a connectivity problem between the computer and printer. I had recently switched from a direct USB connection to a non-powered USB hub. Apparently, routing through the hub resulted in an inadequate, inconsistent connection between the computer and printer, so print jobs were garbled or only parts of the page were getting printed. Switching the USB cable back to a direct connection between the printer and computer completely resolved the problem.

New Epson RX595 won't print

Apparently the latest software doesn't work with Leopard 10.5.2. I uninstalled the Epson software and installed the earlier version [driver version 3.88] that come on the Installer CD with the printer. Printing now works.

Print queue stops document and will not resume

Hi,

Clearing the Print Queue in Windows:

Open the Print Queue
  • Windows 98 - click Start, Settings, Printers
  • Windows XP - click Start, Printers and Faxes
or click Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes
  • Windows Vista - Start, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Printers
Double-click to open the appropriate printer's queue. The Print dialog box will open. Here you will see a list of all of the jobs waiting to print, along with the status of each job. The first print job is at the top of the list.
To cancel a document in the list, right-click it and select Cancel Printing. Most often, it is better to cancel all of the jobs and then resend the documents to the printer.
Cancel All Documents
  • Windows 98 - click Printer on the menu, select “Purge Print Documents”
  • Windows XP - click Printer on the menu, select “Cancel All Documents”
  • Windows Vista - click Printer on the menu, select “Cancel All Documents”
Please note that you must have Administrative rights in Windows XP and Vista to cancel print jobs. If you are the only user, you automatically have administrative rights. If you are on a multi-user computer, you must be an administrator. If are on a network and get a message saying that you do not have Administrative rights, find someone who does.
Under normal circumstances, printing documents are cancelled and will disappear from the queue. If one or more do not disappear, shutdown the computer and restart. When shutting down, you may get a message warning you that your print jobs will be lost if you continue. Tell Windows to shutdown anyway. When you restart, Windows may tell you that you have print jobs waiting. Tell Windows to delete them.
Before you resume work, open the Print Queue from the Start menu. You should find the queue empty. If you are using Windows XP or Windows Vista and the queue is not empty, you will be unable to print. Before trashing your computer, you can try to clear the queue using a secret Windows command.
Click Start, Run, and type “Net Stop Spooler” (without the quotes). Then press Enter. Shutdown the computer and restart. The print jobs should be removed. If they are not, shut down the computer again, take a deep breath, and then go for a long walk. The queue should be clear when you return. Note that you must restart the computer for your printers to resume normal operation.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

HP Laserjet 3050 won't print - os X

Power off printer, disconnect all leads such as USB, network, etc and power on again.

Does it power on to the normal state?

Are there any messages on the control panel or light patterns (eg off, on, flashing etc)?

Samsung ML-2510 will not print from MAC OS on Macbook

I had the same problem and found the solution on the Apple discussion boards. Apparently, OSX 10.4 installs the printer as a Lexmark 510 series, not a Samsung ML-2510.
Just add a new printer and change the type from Lexmark 510 series to ML-2510 series.
Worked a charm for me!
