Question about General Electric WCVH6800J Front Load Washer

2 Answers

I have a 12 month old GE wcvh6800 that when run on on normal will not go to rinse part of the cycle. Alot of pauses that you have to hit start to get going again. Using delicate cycle works fine. I did clean out pump filter, some soap scum but that was it. any suggestions?

In order for the pressure switch to work it has to get pressure.
The switch is located near the top of the right side panel and can be seen by removing the top cover. There is a small pressure hose that leads to the switch and should be checked for crackes or chafing. There are three round sponges on this hose to keep it from rubbing on the moving parts. I had to replace mine after just over a year so I used a heaver hose with the same inner diameter. I used a 3/16 fuel line from Pricess Auto and two new 3/8 stainless hose clamps.

First, check out to run a diagnostic. I'm having the same problem and it's apparently the pressure switch hose. My t06 test is showing an E.

Also see if describes your problem. BE SURE to heed the warning about the cancel/drain near the end of the page - I just spent 2 hours cleaning up water.

I had Sears come out to check it. The first tech said my problem was a $145 pressure switch, which had to be ordered. The 2nd tech came out a week later to install the part. I asked if he would instead install the pressure hose, then test the washer. The hose off the truck cost $16 - I ended up saving $130.
A test he used was to remove the hose and use a syringe to blow air into it while crimping off one end. The air escaped through a nearly imperceptible hole, proving it was the hose.

It stumped me first time. You have to unplug it, plug it in, then press signal-delay-signal-delay with in 30 seconds. You don't push any othere buttons first. Then it will lock the door, spin the drum, and go into troubleshooting mode.

Check the cold water hose. My brand new machine had this behavior until I discovered a kink in the cold water hose - works great now.

GE Nautilus won't drain after Rinse Cycle

Check disposer plug. If a garbage disposer has been recently installed, it is possible the disposer drain plug was not removed. The drain plug is a plastic piece in the disposer that blocks the hole where the dishwasher hose connects. Also check the hose connected to the disposal. Mine apparently had a kink in it. When I straightened the hose the dishwasher drained at full speed (I recently had a plumber re-route a hot waterline. He must has bent the hose). Hope this helps. If not go to the GE website. That's where I found my answer.
