I've been hacked. I changed my password, but, , I'm still getting messages sent to my contacts, and

It sounds like you may have software that tracks your key presses, and or monitors your activities so even after changing your password they are able to know the new one. More likely, you have some type of virus on your computer that is ********* your email software.

I would recommend you first clean your computer of these viruses/key loggers then try changing your password again. I wrote a tech article which goes over virus removal. You can find it at the link below.

How to remove viruses/malware

The best way to remove a virus is to boot your computer into SAFE MODE without networking then run your anti virus programs. In order to boot your computer into safe mode you need to continuously press the F8 key during your computers up sequence. You should then get a menu and you can choose SAFE MODE.

Another FYI. If when you do a password reset you get a confirmation email sent to an alternate address, this may be where the problem lies. If the person has access to your alternate email, they can just read the email and reset the password.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

To Whom it may concern, Someone has hacked into my account and is sending the attached mail to all of my contacts. What can be done about this? Ray Christian This is the content of the mail that is being...

This doesn't necessarily mean your account was hacked. A lot of times what happens is you get a virus on your computer which collects information about your email and contacts, then it sends automated emails to your contacts, enticing them to open a link and get infected as well. This is how a lot of viruses spread, and are proven to be more affective as it appears to be coming from someone your contacts know and trust.
The best thing to do is scan your PC with a good virus scanner and also with something like (download the free).
Change your email password asap just to be sure.
A virus can send email on your behalf without using your password and without logging into your email.
Also, if at all possible, never check your email on public computers, at libraries etc.. They could be full of viruses and key loggers.
Regards, Chris

When i have a link in my email i recieve a pop up that says (there are restriction effective on computer please contact you system administator) what does this mean and how can i get my email links working...

Dear liz,

who ever set up the computer made you a power user instead of and an administrator. this is a good ploy for people who are not computer sa-vy, also for people who wander to bad web sites were they may contract a virus.

If you are not the owner of the computer see the administrator, if you own the computer log into the computer as an adminstrator and change the settings. You should know the password for the adminstrator...since you own the computer...

this is the reasoning hunt dowh the culprit
