Question about Washing Machines
Since I have no idea what machine you have, top loader or front loader I can give you some places to look at.If it is top loader, either the motor coupling is going out, this is a small rubber piece between the motor and transmission. When these go out it starts a whirring sound or growling. Picture 2 rubber gears rubbing against each other but the teeth aren't engaging. Front loaders could be the transmission going out, and some have belt drives which can be going bad. Another reason machines won't spin is that the pump is clogged or drain hose is clogged, or the lid switch or door switch is broken or out of alignment.
