Possible fault in the program controller unit. It must be confirmed with a test on the drain valve/pump. If there is no power to the drain pump/valve at the time of cycle , then the program is not outputting and the fault is in the main controller unit.
However if there is power to the drain but without the drain valve/pump working to open out then the drain unit must be taken out, externally cleaned , backflushed and tested. If not the valve is faulty and needs a change.

There are a couple things you can check due to the unit not draining first shut off the water supply going to your unit and check the drain hose and disconnect it from the sink or garbage disposal where it ties into the pipe assure that there is no crud blocking the exit port of the hose that goes to the drain. the following parts you would need to de-install your unit and pull it out from under the counter you would next check to assure that the drain pump is not clogged and it is working properly as well it is possible to pull the drain pump out and using a powered jumper wire do a bench test to assure that the impellar is spinning properly some models also have a drain solenoid like on the ge versions this gives power to the pump as well if yours does have a solenoid try to free the solenoid from what ever is jamming it message me back your model number as well and i may be able to locate some further information on your unit I do fix alot of american type of dishwashers as well as european and others types like fagor as well. If you have any further questions message me back those as well and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows for me to help others in similar situations Thanks Rick
p.s also how many lights are on and if they are on are they flashing and if so how long in between each flash this usually distinguishes what the error code is on your unit by the flashing lights which would also point you directly to the actual problem rather then testing the whole unit Thanks again Rick

ok if you still have water left in the bottom and the drain hose is cleaned and you have assured that the drain pump works as well the next thing that you would check due to you still haveing water in the bottom would be the float switch and on some units they also have a flow meter as well the float switch is pretty much like it says looks kinna like a hockey puck and rises and sinks depending on how much water you have inside your machine when it gets to a certain level it turns on the drain or when it gets to that cycle it also turns on the drain so the unit drains the water out going to go look at a couple more things on possibilities Thanks Rick

there is also a thermo cut off fuse located in between the door panels sometimes taking this off and reinsterting it solves the matter as well if you do choose to take it off perform a continuity test on the thermal cut off fuse to assure that it is working properly I am unable to look up your unit without the model number so message me back when you have the model number and i might be able to actually find the problem and not just go of past experience of some things that can cause these issues Thanks Rick

p.s I am assuming that you have bench tested the drain pump and the pump is working properly outside the machine correct ?

Belt, Water Pump Although few dishwashers have a water pump belt, if the dishwasher won't drain there might be a worn or broken water pump belt. After removing the lower kick panel the motor can be seen in the front, the water pump belt is on the bottom of the motor.

Drain Pump If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain pump might be defective. Test the pump motor with an Ohm meter. Drain pumps are not repairable, if it's defective it will need to be replaced.

Drain Impeller The drain impeller is attached to the pump and pushes the water out of the dishwasher, through the drain tube and into the garbage disposer or drain line. If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain impeller might be broken or worn out. Replace both the impeller and seal at the same time.

Drain Solenoid Kit If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain solenoid kit might need to be replaced. The drain solenoid is an actuator that opens a flap to allow the water to drain.
Drain Valve The drain valve can get clogged with debris and should be cleaned out if the dishwasher won't drain. If it seems clear of debris but won't actuate, it will need to be replaced. The drain valve is not repairable Pump and Motor Assembly If the dishwasher won't drain, the pump and motor assembly might be defective. If the motor runs during the drain cycle, check for a blockage in the drain line. If the motor won't run during the drain cycle or if it just hums when it should be running, the pump and motor assembly might need to be replaced.

Clogged or Improperly Installed Garbage Disposer If the dishwasher won't drain and the garbage disposer was installed recently, the installer might have forgotten to knock out the drain plug from this disposer. All garbage disposers are sold with a solid plug in the drain tube for situations where a dishwasher isn't connected. However, if the dishwasher is connected, the plug will need to be removed. If the disposer wasn't replaced recently, remove the dishwasher drain hose from the disposer and clean out both the fitting on the disposer and the end of the drain hose. These are the most common places to find an obstruction if the dishwasher won't drain.

If the valve gets stuck closed, it will prevent the water from draining. The check valve is the device that the drain hose is attached to on the dishwasher.

Check Ball If the dishwasher won't drain the check ball might be stuck. The check ball is a small plastic ball in the check valve which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the ball gets stuck, it will prevent the water from draining also. The check valve is the device that the drain hose is attached to on the dishwasher.

GE GLD6700N dishwasher won't drain

remove the drain hose and make sure its not plugged with food debris then hit the drain/cancel button and put the drain hose end in a bucket and see how much water comes out of the end of the hose if any,if the 2 green lights are flashing this too is a clue to this problem, also make sure you can hear the drain pump running when you start it as explained in the above statement

My Miele dishwasher has the red drain light on and won't drain

most common, debris stuck in the drain pump. remove the triple filter, remove the non return valve. clear the debris from the drain pump impeller. try to drain again. also make sure you dont have an obstruction in the drain line. if you replaced your garbage disposal recently, make sure they knocked out the drain plug when they connected the dishwasher. also make sure your dishwasher drain line connects directly to the disposal, and does not run to a air gap in your countertop. miele dishwashers will not function properly when connected to an air gap.

Whirlpool gu1200xtls2 wont drain just stopped

Hello

your Whirlpool dishwasher stopped draining mid-cycle, check your circuit breaker or fuses. The cycle won't complete if the power is interrupted. Reset the circuit breaker if tripped, or change out any blown fuses. Fully close the dishwasher door, and restart the cycle if you opened up the door. If you have not used the dishwasher in a while, the motor may be stuck. Open up the main housing, and rotate the motor until it turns freely. You must replace the motor if it's corroded or won't move since it's unlikely that you can fix it.

Pump

The pump is located underneath the lower rack and spray arm. This component is responsible for pumping water out of the dishwasher once the cycle is complete. If the pump isn't working, verify that it is not clogged with debris. Use a toothpick or plastic utensil to remove food particles from it. Check the pump impeller. If a section of it is broken, get a new pump since the impeller is difficult to fix.

Clogs

Clogs in the air gap or drainage hose prevent water from leaving the tub. Clean these components and the water inlet filters, if dirty. Examine the drainage hose, and straighten it if it's kinked. If the hose is badly crushed, you must replace it. Unscrew the drainage hose from the dishwasher to clean it, but reattach it before you restart the cycle. Run the food waste disposer if it's connected to your Whirlpool dishwasher. Remove the knockout plug from the disposer if you have just installed the disposer or dishwasher.

Drain Valve/High Drain Loop

Whirlpool dishwashers have drain valves with an internal solenoid. This valve opens and closes to drain water out of the tub. If the drain valve is stuck, lubricate the lever, and remove any debris clogging the valve. Remove any objects that are preventing the drain valve from freely opening and closing. If the valve is not working properly, you must replace it. Always install a high drain loop to prevent water from the sink entering your dishwasher. Create a loop of the drainage hose that is at least 18 inches high. Attach this hose beneath a section of cabinetry.

Dishwasher intake/drain light is on, removed and cleaned intake valve, no obstructions. Tripped the breaker to the power supply to no avail....any suggestions?

Hi

Intake/Drain light flashing means an issue while draining. You would need to check for air gap on the dishwasher, it may be clogged. It prevents dishwasher from draining, sometimes the drain flow is restricted due to gunk. Cleaning or bypassing the air gap will resolve the issue. If this doesn't resolve the issue then it is due to seized (or stuck) drain pump. Disconnect the power to the dishwasher or turn off the breaker to the dishwasher. Tip machine on its back; remove screws that hold the bottom tray on. Remove the hoses to the main motor, remove electrical connections & remove motor (single screw holds motor, it is on the outside back of the machine). Try to rotate the motor (use WD40 is necessary). If you cannot rotate it, then motor will be required. If the error still appears then cancel the error message, turn the rotary selector switch to "Stop/End" or press the "Start/Stop" switch for approx. 5 secs. Switch the appliance off and then back on again. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
