Question about Dell Inspiron B120 Notebook

1 Answer

Rebooting My internet on my laptop wan't protected so I was getting pop-ups. On of the pop-ups contained a virus so my laptop now has one and I can't do anything except do anything off line but that's what I need the most. So my daughter once pressed F10 on her PC to do a 'System Recovery' and it was like when I just bought it for her. I wanted to do that I mine but I don't know how. I tried to shut it off improperly because that's the when it gives you the options, but it only says 'F2-Setup' and 'F12 Boot menu'. I clicked both but no options for resetting it. Please help because I really need this laptop. Please help me. -Isa Marie You can e-mail me at bmp9611@yahoo.com (best choice) or isamari2@yahoo.com (work e-mail)

The system recovery is not build into most of the computers out there, some, a few computers have this function integrated into the operateing system.

in your case you will need to use the windows setup cd or the recovery cds that came with the laptop.

My sisters A205-S5804 laptop keeps shutting down but only when it's processing files..If it's idle it sits there for hours

it may be overheating, when it processes files the proc gets hot i suggest a cooling pad of some type see if that helps, when it shuts down, is it hot? are you getting any messages or does it just shut down. try this: hit windows key +R and when the box pops up type eventvwr and check the system logs and see if it tells you why it's shutting down. if it's heat related it should say. let me know if you need any help

Rebooting

To get rid of the virus and set it back "just as you bought it", reformat the hard drive and install a new operating system with your recovery or operating system disc. If you use the built in quick recovery system, the virus will remain, and continue to cause damage to the system.
