Question about Eiger Vision AV-710H Car Monitor

1 Answer

Inverted Screen (Upside Down)

Oping you can help me. I’ve got 2 of the Eiger Vision 7” headrest DVD screens in my Dodge Ram Truck. Overall great product….ridged, durable and good picture quality. The one problem I have right now is one of them has the picture inverted (or upside down). I’ve tried going into the settings on the screen but been unable to find anything to correct this problem. It was working fine for years and then all of a sudden this happened. Weird. Looking for your feedback and possible fix.

The buttons on the lower portion of the screen are:
“Power”, “Menu”, “Sel”, “Adj”, “AV”, “ASPECT”

SOME UNITS USUALLY DO HAVE A MENU FUNCTION TO FLIP THE SCREEN , HOWEVER IF THE UNIT HAS BEEN WORKING THIS WAY FOR A WHILE THEN IT MAY BE A SIGN THE UNIT IS REACHING ITS LIFE EXPECTANCY, IF REMOVING THE POWER DOESN'T WORK IT'S INTERNAL.

Screen upside down

If the mouse is also operating inverted then the video has been rotated by the video software. You can fix that by going into the video setup (nVidia/ATI Catalyst/Intel) and finding the rotation feature and re-inverting the image. If the image is inverted, but the mouse moves normally on the screen, then you have a haunted PC and should run for the hills!

My work truck does this as well. Pulling out the nozzle doesnt work either. I know it sounds wierd, but try turning the nozzle sideways or upside down when filling the tank. Works well with my work truck.....

Upside down and flipped numbers

Hello,
Press [CLEAR] to erase the screen. If that does not work reset the RAM
Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset][ENTER]. Then press [CLEAR].
If these steps fail, you should read the article.
Hope it helps.

I just bought the dual headrest from walmart and can not get the sound to work the passenger side. can anyone help me with this?or possibly tell me how to get the sound through the stereo.

The monitor only headrest does not have audio handling circuitry in it. the wire harness for that side is the one with the red and black wire, and the two video inputs, not the harness with the red and black wire and the three RCA jacks. It will function on the wrong harness, but it is not the correct one.

The DVD headrest has two harnesses. One of them is for power and output, the other is for input only from another source. The harness with the red and black wire has the three RCA outputs... the video lead goes to the other headrest, and the audio can be fed to an aux input on a stereo or amplifier. The input harness is designed to be Video 2 input from either a gaming system (a Game Cube is a nice option), or another DVD or video source (hand held video device such as iPod or Smart Phone like a HTC Touch Pro 2).

To get sound out of the stereo, either run the audio output from the headrest to the aux input on your stereo, or cycle the FM transmit options using the FMTX button on the DVD player unit to a station you can tune to on your car's FM radio.

One of my screens shows the video upside down

It could be that the monitor was installed upside-down; other than that, check the settings on whatever device your feeding video to the screen with- a PC, a DVD player? It might have rotation settings.
