I want to copy my "MONEY" file onto the SanDisk Cruzer Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive (8 GB). I used to use the 3.5 in. floppy disc for back up but it is not available anymore. So, I am hoping I can do it this way. Can I drag and drop? And, can I do this without being on the internet. Don't have internet on that computer! Thanks

Bushtildaj,

If you know where the "MONEY" file is on the local computer, then absolutely you can drag and drop that file onto the flash drive. If you are using windows, you can even right click on the "MONEY" file, and on the menu that pops up there should be an option titled "Send to". If you click on this option, it should show you a list of options where you can copy the file, and you should see the drive letter assigned to your flash drive there as well.

And no, you do not need the Internet to copy the file to a flash drive.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you.

Hello, I have Sandisk Cruzer blade 4 gb pendrive. But now it shows I/O error while copying data to it. please give a solution.

Copy all the files from it to your 'C:' drive, and burn the files to one DVD-recordable disk.
Then, responsibly recycle the SanDisk, and spend $10 to buy a new flash-drive.
Copy the files from the 'C:' drive, or the DVD disk onto the new flash-drive.
Keep multiple copies of your files, just in case this "new" flash-drive also "fails".

I have a .pst file that is 5 GB which I am trying to copy to a sandisk flash drive cruzer 8 GB. I keep on getting an error message stating the the file is to big for the destination file system. What...

Two possibilities:

1. you already have more than 3GB of files on the SANDISK.
So, delete some files, or "burn" them to a CD/DVD disk,
so that you have at least 5 GB of "free" space available.

2. the "file-system" (the way that the "table-of-contents" is laid-out on the SANDISK) limits the size of a single file to 2GB.
The "file-system" on your 'C:' drive does *NOT* have that identical limitation (it does have a "maximum-file-size", but it is MUCH larger).

Open Outlook, and "compress" all the folders.
Perhaps, the PST file will shrink to less than 4.7 GB.
If it does, then you can "burn" that file onto one DVD-writable disk.

I just purchased an 8GB USB 2.0 flash drive from SanDisk Cruzer. I plugged it in, it recognized it then opened to documents what do i do next?

You use it like a floppy disk, you can copy files to and from your computer to the flash drive, then take the flash drive out and the put into another computer to share, ie. to download and copy files to from other computers such as a friend's computer. The files can be anything, music, photos etc.

How to copy a file onto 8 GB flash drive

Plug the drive into your USB port. A box usually will pop up asking what you want to do. Yo can make a choice from there or just close the box. Right click on the folder and select "Copy" go to "My computer" and find the flash drive, it's usually designated by a drive letter other than "C", or "D" if you have a CD drive. Probably the last drive listed. Right click on the drive and select "Paste"
Good luck!!

I just bought a Sandisk Cruzer Micro, 8GB. My problem is that I'm rather computer illiterate. Can you tell me how to use this thing? Where to plug it in , etc. What do I do after its plugged in. I have...

1. Find a USB port on your computer usually it has a 3 pronged logo on it
2. plug it in, it will only fit in one way its a rectangle.
3. your computer if running on an operating system made after windows 98 will auto detect these jump or thumb drives.
4. you can browse to this new memory using my computer on a PC or by using finder on a MAC.
to copy files the easiest way i know to do so on both PCs and MACs is to select the files off of the source and drag and drop (or copy and paste them) to your new 8GB drive.
5. once you can see the files on the USB drive open them so you know the file is there and not a short cut.

You should strongly consider buying a second back up like an external had drive. you should have 2 back-ups of critical files.

-good luck-
