Question about Pyle PLCD15MR CD Player

1 Answer

PYLE PLCD15MR radio/CD/etc/ Power problems is that there's no power. Connected directly to fully charged (12.3v) car battery. Can't get it to turn on. Double checked everything. Fuse is good. Control panel reinserted several times. Still nothing. This is the second one I've tried. Returned the first because I thought it was broken. Same problem now with the second one. What am I missing? Is there some trick to get the thing to turn on?

Hello there ,firstly to rectify the power source remove front panel using a multimetre connect (red) positive to pin 1 this is the top pin as you look at the front panel connect (black) negative probe to the 3rd pin and see is there power registering ,if no power is found place front panel back on radio ,remove power block from back of stereo look for the power source wires red/black you will see the pins for these in block test with metre ,make sure while your testing for power the ignition is turned on at all times ,if you are not getting power here there is a faulty wire or the main fuse for radio, has blown this can be located either on the driverside neath the steering column or passenger side check all these fuses aswell ,another thing you could try if all fails try another radio that you know is working this will aliminate power problems ,hope you get it working let me goodluck

MYFI XM2GO WILL NOT TURN ON. ALSO WHEN I PUT IN CRADLE WILL NOT SHOW CHARGING

I had the same problem. This procedure from the "Technical Questions" section of http://shopdelphi.com/consumers/support/faqs/myfi/ worked for me:
"My MyFi won't power up, how do I reset it?
To reset your MyFi, start by turning the receiver off and removing it from its (car, home, audio system) cradle. Then remove the back cover and battery. Using a small paperclip, press the reset button located on the top left corner of the battery compartment. Now plug the AC power adapter into a wall outlet and plug the power port directly into the bottom of the MyFi (battery stays removed). Wait 10 seconds and listen for a beep. After you hear the beep the message "insert battery" will appear. Cycle the MyFi to ensure it powers up and powers down. If the power cycle is normal, then turn off the MyFi, unplug the power adapter, and reinstall the battery. Re-plug the AC power adapter directly into the bottom of the MyFi. Wait 10 seconds and listen for a beep. After the beep you will see the message "battery charging". Leave the MyFi plugged in until it's fully charged. You will see the message "charging complete" displayed. After the MyFi is fully charged, turn it on and reset to the factory defaults. Unplug the MyFi from the AC power adapter and using the battery power leave it on until it fully discharges (approximately 2-5 hours). Plug the MyFi in using the AC power adapter to recharge the unit and resume normal use. If you need help at any point during this process contact us at 1-877-463-3574 for technical support."

I hope it works for you too.

Cd player stays on when you take the keys out of the ignition. how do i fix?

I assume you installed the CD player yourself?
There are 2 power connections to a typical CD player ...
* Battery (constant 12 volts to allow eject without key & keep memory etc.)
* Accessory (turns on radio when ignition is turned to acc or on)

The battery is typically a yellow wire and the accessory is typically a red wire. I'm assuming your installer has connected both directly to the battery cable (supplying power regardless of whether the car is on or not).

To fix the problem, you need to find the accessory cable in the car stereo group of wires.
I would usually use a tester to find which wires are 'live' when the accessory is turned on, then turn off accessory and re-test the live wires to see which one turns off when the key is off. This is your accessory wire and should be connected to the red cable of your car stereo.

Mitsubish 10 cd will not power off

You need to check both of the main power wires. The 12V constant is almost always yellow and fused, and this connects directly to the battery, and functions as a memory for time, radio presets, etc. The Red wire is the 12V switched, and it needs to be hooked to an accessory wire or the ignition wire, whichever your preference. The 12V swithced is the prompt for the radio to turn on and function, and if it is connected to the battery, the radio will never go off unless turned off physically.

Can not get power to my pyle amplifier

Usually On Car Amplifiers, there is a Connector/Wire called "Remote On".
This is where Headunit supplies 12V to trigger the Power on the Amplifier.
(Of course, head unit usually has Remote Wire also in order to turn the Amplifier on).

If this wire is properly connected and still does not turn on, then try to supply 12V directly from the battery. If it turns on then your head unit has problem, If it does not turn on then your Amplifier has problem.

Shuts for no reason

Check the battery first..... alot of times a person will put a battery in a chager and let it sit. They will think the battery is fully charged but it may not be... In those battery packs there are a bunch of smaller batteries all tied together. Alot of times these commercial raios will run off of around 7 volts ( check the battery). The battery will only charge up to 7 volts if all the cells inside the battery are good. What I'm saying is for you to charge the battery up fully..... check the voltage listed on the battery then use a volt meter to check the voltage after the battery is fully charged. When a battery has just finished being charged usually it will be overcharged.... a 7.5 volt battery will be up around 8.5 volts for example. So check the battery right after its charged... expect it to be overcharged. If it seems OK, put it in the raio and key the radio for a bit to try and use up some battery power.... then check it again and see if it has dropped drastically. Your problem has to do with power... the first link in the power chain is the battery... check that out... then go to where the battery makes contact with the radio and make sure thats good.... inside the radio there will be a fuse but if thats blown you will get nothing... then the power goes to the switch. Battery... contacts...fuse... switch... that how the power initially gets into the radio. Most of these problems are battery related so I would check that first. If the battery does not have enough power when you transmit with the radio the radio will shut down.... turn off. If its not getting enough current the voltage will drop and once it gets low the radio shuts off. Usually with commercial stuff you will hear a "beep" when this happens. Your problem might be power related... theres alot you can check.
