Hi Rosebud,

Your camera takes videos in the "Quicktime" format. You do not need to convert the videos (unless you want to play them on another device) to view them on your computer. All that is needed is a player that can read that file format. The "official" quicktime player can be found at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download . That said, I prefer another program to play my video files called VLC and it can be found here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc .

If neither of these programs work please let me know and I'd be happy to find a different program to play your video files.

Thank you.

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

What type and size memory card? Is your card reader compatible with the card?

If I had to take a guess, you're using an SDHC card (4GB or larger) while your card reader is only compatible with SD cards (2GB or smaller).

Built memory

Do you have a memory card in the camera? The camera won't show you the contents of the internal memory or let you delete anything in it if you have a memory card installed.

My DMC-Z51 will only write to internal memory and not to sd chip

You need to get rid of the pics on the internal memory. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"....follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. After that, your memory card should work.

Sorry, but a driver won't help. The DMC-ZS1 is designed as a camera to store images and videos to memory, not as a webcam to stream live video to another device.

If, after viewing the pics on a computer, you don't use the "safely remove hardware" function before pulling out the cord/card, the files on the card may become corrupted and not recognized by the camera anymore.

When you remove the card from the computer, do you use the "safely remove hardware" function? If you don't, the card can become corrupted enough that your camera no longer recognizes it.

Panasonic lumix DMC-ZS1 - won't record video

It might be telling you that the card you have in the camera isn't fast enough to keep up with the demands of a video recording. You need to buy a more expensive card with a faster speed rating.
