Epson artisan 710 end of life ink pad problem

you need to get it serviced. all printers have a pad that collects waste ink, like when you run a cleaning cycle. eventually the pad gets full and needs to be cleaned and/or replaced. you could try to take the printer apart and do it yourself but I believe you will still need a program to 'tell' the printer that a service has been carried out. never done it myself but there are videos on youtube that may help.

Changing ink reservor on Epson rx620

Are you often to used refilled cartridge? That's possible your waste tank has been fulled. Hold down the 'Stop' AND the 'B&W' button while powering up. This seems to clear the error message and restore the printer. Worked for me--dunno how long it will last tho!

Please rate me SOLVED.

Epson c84 stylus inkjet lower ink pads installation diagram

You are asking because you got a message like this:
parts inside my printer are reaching their end of service life?Read about it at this link:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Storesupport/InkPadsForm.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes.
4 options:
1. Reset the printer with the utility above (after realizing that IF the pads are actually near full, which I've only seen once, ink will start overflowing onto your desk sometime in the future (put the printer on a baking pan for safety).
2a. Replace pads yourself (a pain and cost more than the printer is worth) parts drawing and parts are available at:http://www.compassmicro.com/
The rest is disassembly- either the service manual - you might find free (or a YouTube video), but definitely for $ at:http://www.2manuals.com/index.php?cPath=2_39
JUST DON'T TRY DOING THIS WITHOUT some guidance- you will end up at option 3 eventually if you do this you will still need to do # 1 to reset the counter2b. Have service firm do it ( way more than the printer is worth)
3a.If you really "love" that C84, or have a bunch of ink - look on Craigslist or ebay
3b. Buy "refurbished" epson printer with warranty, inks and probably free shipping at:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/EsHome.do?BV_UseBVCookie=yes

Service required parts inside printer are at end of service life Will i be able to fix myself

Maybe, but other failures may occur soon. This usually is a "waste ink absorber is full" message. If you disassemble the printer, you will find absorbant pads at the sides (one is right under where the ink cartridge rests when not in use). If you remove the pads, blot off the excess ink and then rinse them until the water runs clean. Then let the pads dry (you can use a blow dryer to speed up the final drying step). Then reassemble the printer.

Next you need to reset the counter for the waste ink. Epson provides a utility to do this for some models: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp?cookies=no&com.broadvision.session.new=Yes . You need to enter your printer serial number to get the link.

I hope this helps.

Epson cx4800 printer won't work at all. most lights flash

Did you get the printer serviced when you got the first error message? You need to have the ink pads replaced and then reset the ink pad counter. See the following URL: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp?cookies=no&com.broadvision.session.new=Yes (long URL).

You can get it serviced by Epson and some independent repair places.

The only alternative is replacing the printer. I do not know the cost of the parts and labor and can't tell you if it's worth the repair if the printer is out of warranty.

The message says parts inside the printer are nearing the end of their service life. What should I do?

This message means that the printer thinks the waste ink pads are full and so
> it refuses to print until the pads are replaced and the waste ink (protection)
> counter is reset.
> In practice the pads will not be full if this is the first time you have
> received the message so all that needs to be done is to reset the counter. Next
> time you must replace or clean the pads.
> Go to http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml and download the utility.
> Install it, run it and exit it from the main window, now go to the icon in the
> system tray and right click on it. Select waste ink or protection counter and
> select reset. If this gives trouble then uninstall the Epson status monitor and
> try again (you can install the status monitir again afterwards).

The SSC service utility won't reset the R1800 counter.
The Epson service program is needed and can be downloaded from:
http://www.2manuals.com/

The R1800/2400 service manual can be downloaded from that site.
If you want to have a go at replacing the pads, then instructions are in
the manual.

Epson stylus cx3650 is displaying the message that internal parts of the printer are past their working life and need servicing, my computer shop says its not worth mending, anything I can do from home?

This message indicates that your waste ink pads are full and require replacing. Replacement is costly, messy and requires the printer to be taken completely apart. Most often the counter has "jumped" to the end of life number, this especially happens where 3rd party or refilled inks have been used. If you believe this to be the case and there is no sign of ink leakage and the pads look fairly clean then you can just reset the counter using special software called the SSC utility. See these sites:
http://indoreset.blogspot.com/
http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml
http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html
More information about this issue and the "official" Epson resetter is available from the Epson web site, please read this link:
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp

Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

Service life has ended on my epson stylus r320 photo printer

Thanks for your selflessness Steve H. describing the RESET procedure for the Epson R300 by simutaneouly depressing the POWER, STOP and MAINTENANCE switches.

I checked with Epson, via telephone, and they recommended going to an authorized dealer for ink pad replacement (approximately $100) or buy a new printer ( $150 - $250).

After completing your suggested RESET procedure successfully - I went a step further and mopped up the excess ink that was evident on the 'black ink pad' which was saturated with black ink. I used Kleenex which seemed to mop up the excess BLACK ink nicely, and continued this mopping procedure until there was no evidence of black ink on the Kleenex. There was very little evidence of spilled ink on the color pads.

Time alone will tell. So thanks again Steve - you saved me $100 to $200.

Oh yeah! I LOVE this printer.
