Question about Leupold Optics

Open Question

My GX-1 just stopped working during my golf round. Put in new battery. Still nothing. Pressed mode and power buttons at the same time for more than 10 seconds, still no range capabilities (nothing when looking through the view finder except the view).

SOURCE: Bushnell Range Finder

I have the same problem, and sent my unit to Bushnell for repair. They were unable to repair it, stated "obsolete" and "repair parts unavailable" and sent it back to me. Would you be interested in selling me your dead unit for parts for a few bucks? Thanks. genebaker@yahoo.com

SOURCE: No yardage displayed

The rangefinder is out of alignment. Vibration, dropping these units make small mirrors inside move slightly. Over time the receiver cannot see what the transmitter puts out. Bushnell can fix, 4-5 weeks w/o unit.

SOURCE: Bushnell Error codes

5/26/09 I spoke with Bushnell technical support today and they informed me that this error "Er6" means the unit can not repaired. They said this is one of their oldest models and that they don't even have parts for it anymore. They did offer to have me send the old unit into their Returns department in Kansas, and in return for sending them the old/broken unit, they will send me an offer to buy one of their new units at a highly discounted rate. Not a bad trade I guess.

SOURCE: My golf range finder is not picking up the

Hi,

The unit needs an alignment. Vibration and dropping the unit is the number one killer of rangefinders.....After a while of using them, (bouncing around in golf carts, cup holders, dropping them on the cart path, or the ground) small prisms start to move inside and decrease the units effective range.... (only able to hit a target at about 150 yards or less) People that use these type of instruments have to realize that the laser beam is the straightest line in the history of man!!!. Alignment is crucial!!!

Alignment is due. For all you players that think its okay to take off the eyepiece cap.....(bad idea) This is why you see oily looking spots or black spots in the view. Direct sunlight will be magnified and burn the surface of the LCD. Bushnell is good about warranties but, if you take it apart...the warranty is void!!!! So if its 2 years old or less.....(send a copy of the proof of purchase) .send it to them. If you have sunlight burns already...this won't effect the performance of the unit. Wait till something else is wrong.

THE COST..... $50 for alignment, $15 for LCD, $40 for newer eyepiece that helps deflect direct sunlight (will not prevent thermal burns but, protects for longer periods of time before damage happens) $15 for clean and adjusting. Bushnell's# 800.423.3537

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

How do I change the Waste Ink collector on a Pixma MP170?

Cleaning or changing the pad is a messy project. This ink pad reset will reset the printer ink use conter to new status and your pad full message will be gone. This is a common occurance with Canon printers and the fix causes no harm. I reset my own MP470 about two years ago without incident.

This reset has been sucessful on many MP150 and simular units and should work on your MP170.
The second works on models with different control pads simular to theMP470.

printer powered off but connected on power source , you must:
1. Press & hold stop/reset button, and then press & hold [ON/OFF] button.
2. When Green power lit, leave stop/reset button & press twice stop/reset (see orange indicator).

Error code 5100 check printer

This is probably a Canon printer and code. If so, it is the "ink waste pad is full" warning. There are work arounds to keep from having to clean the pad. Here are two methods to eliminate the message. The only other ways are to take it to a repair shop or dismantle the printer and clean the pad yourself. Not advised, This is messy.

This works on many different printers.
