SOURCE: Brother Print Unable 50 Error

No ;-)

The encoder strip switched off the ph and has to be set into place again.
see here how to fix it:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t211210-brother_mfc845cw

(enlarge the browser window to see pics somewhat better)

An advice:
when you have set the encoder strip in pos. again stick some scotch tape on the top of the ph cover where the strip runs thru to prevend the slipping off again on next paper jam ;-)

Brother DCP-9010cn is showing Unable to print code 73

The error code 73 means that you have a paper jam or a paper sensor problem.

here are a list of all the codes for brother printers:
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/faq/faq/000000/000100/000068/faq000168_005.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=mfc5490cn_all

To troubleshoot paper jams go here:
http://www.manualslib.com/manual/355700/Brother-Mfc-9010cn.html?page=78#manual

If its not a paper jam you will need to call brother customer service as it may need a sensor part.

Brother MFC790cw shows on LCD "unable to change

Here's the online (english) version of your Brother "Multi-Function Center" Users Manual:

http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_MFC_790CW_990CW_EN_1600.PDF

The closest thing to your error message I can find is
"Unable to Clean XX" on page 156, in which case, your All-in-1 has either a (1) mechanical problem, or (2) a staple/paper clip or torn bit of paper is stuck in the machine.

Use a flashlight to look really closely for little foreign matter that
might be jamming your device - office staples can be insidious.

The screen shows "Unable to

If you look at the Brother website you will find a trouble shooting guide for your machine.

In the guide, for the error you quote Brothers guidance is to check for a stuck piece paper, however it also states that if the printhead is hard over to one side (righthand side if memory serves me correct), then to contact Brother. If you do so, Brother will tell you it needs to be serviced by a Brother agent, which will likely cost you more than a new one !

If it isnt a stuck piece of paper, the problem is due to the fact that Brother machines excessively self-clean. Each time they self-clean a small amount of ink is dumped in to a holding tank/sponge. When a predefined number of self-clean operations have been performed, the machine refuses to print and gives the error message you have stated. Brother state that the tank/sponge must be replaced before the counter is reset, again by a Brother agent.

However, there is a way of reseting the self-clean counter yourself - if you Google your model number and the error code somewhere in the results you'll find how to do it. The only risk of doing this without changing the tank/sponge is that it will eventually overflow and leak out the bottom, but I did my Brother all in one some time ago and have had no problems yet.

My printer Brother DCP 145C doesn't want to print. It takes the paper and then stops. It displays message: Print Unable 36.

Check for a paper jam. I just encountered this same error on my Brother MFC-290C, and that was the cause. I had to unplug the printer's power cable to clear the error message.

Multi-Function Center MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer: i get the message "print unable 36" displayed on m...

Error code 36 is generally because of a paper jam that was not cleared. Remove the rear jam cover (the plastic cover in the back center of the machine)and the paper tray and check for any pieces of paper. Sometimes just a scrap will remain, but it's enough to cause the machine to not work.

Once you've replaced the covers, if the jam code does not reset, turn the machine off and then back on.

Brother MFC-6490CW printer error unable to print 36

Any of the 30 series errors say that the carriage is not free to move from side to side across the paper. You need to look close on each side of the machine where the carriage travels to see if there's a paper scrap stopping it. Also the encoder strip could be out of the slot in the carriage assembly. If all is OK you need a shop repair to determine if the logic or carriage pcb's are OK.

Printer message "unable to print 36"

That error usually means a paper scrap or something is stopping the carriage from moving across the paper correctly, or there are scraps caught on either side of the carriage assembly.

Wont work at all just says unable to print 36

"Machine Error 36" and "Unable to Print" are error messages indicating something physically making it impossible for the machine to work. Hopefully, you could find a stuck paper or parts of stuck paper by opening the different covers (front, back, paper trays etc), the problem should then be solved by removing the paper and rebooting your machine.
However, if this does not work or you're unable to find the stuck paper, you will need to have service on this unit, to open up the machine.
