Once reset the printer will be able to work again but you should also check and clean the waste ink pads located at printer bottom. In order to do this you have to disassemble your printer.

Hope that helps...........

Hello,
This warning appears because,The ink pads on the right rear of the printer are assumed to be soaked by now by the internal counters. Resetting the counters can be done with the free software from
http://www.ssclg.com

(or)

http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.htm...

The pads are easy to clean but messy. Wear disposable gloves and old clothes. They can be rinsed out with water (lots of water), dried and replaced fairly easily

Please post back on how things turned or for further assistance!!!.. Thank you...

Regards!!...

My printer is epson tx650.the problomis that it say 'the printer's ink pad is at the end of their service life'. please assist me with the solution.says RAKITA

Sadly the other solution is the usual corporate party line regarding "Parts at the end of their service life" and is intended to encourage printer owners to purchase new printers.

The reality is quite different.. Epson printer are generally capable of upwards of 3 to 10 years or service with minimal care unless the printer is being hammered 24/7 with almost constant printing, which is very unlikely.

Waste pads however are an achilles heel that do need some form of action to either replace or work-around to resolve.

The options available are either:
1. Go to a service centre where it is indeed prohibitively expensive to have the printer disassembled to replace the pads and have the waste counter reset.

OR..

2. Get an external waste ink kit to redirect any waste ink to an external tank (it doesn't remove the current pad contents) and obtain the relevant tool (either a compatible AdjProg service program) or WICReset tool with a key (one needed per reset) so you can reset the printers internal waste ink counter.

The cost of the latter option is around 20-25(GPB) total (including shipping) so compared to the tooth sucking Epson Customer "Care" option it's not exactly rocket science as to which is more cost effective.

Please ignore the rubbish about other parts being near the end of their service life... About the only other thing to note is that the printer gears might need a little grease but beyond that and flimsy plastic paper guides the printer can easily last 5 years with a little care.

My Epson Stylus photo R320 gave me an error saying "Service required. Printer parts are at end of service life. See printer manual for details". Which parts need replaced? thanks, Holly

It's probably going to be less expensive to REPLACE the whole printer, rather than paying a qualified printer technician $50 to $75 to disassemble the printer, change the parts (which won't be included in that charge for "labour"), to reassemble, and to test it.

Says parts need replacing but they dont how do I get the printer to work

If the error message reads parts inside the printer are at the end of its service life, and both red lights flashing alternately while power light is off, it is an indication that the waste ink pad is full and needs to be replaced. This part is not user replaceable so you need to take in the printer for service.

Is saying parts have come to the end of their life service needed

Your waste ink tray is likely full. The machine has a small container with a felt-like pad in it to absorb ink that is expelled during cleaning cycles. It is telling you that it is full so that ink does not spill out and make a mess where the printer sits. You should either have it serviced or purchase a new printer. Purchasing a new printer is likely less expensive, but beware of which one you buy. We have had customers bring new Epson cartridges (Epson 97 series) to us and tell us that they only got 25 pages of printing out of the black.

Hi,

This is a mechanical problem or a hardware issue. You will need to bring the printer into repair to service and fix the printer. Some parts need to be calibrated and replace so that you will need to service the unit.

Hope this helps

Printer stating (parts inside your printer are coming to the end of their service life) it does not say which parts and it will not let me do anything now!

your waste pads inside need replacing, they are full of ink. the printer also needs to be reset.
i am not sure of your model, but costs usually
are $75 and up with parts and labor.

you will need to take it to a service center.
