Hello, the filter will usually be on the return air side of you furnace. It will be where the return duct meets the furnace and the filter should be in placed into the filter rack

Instruction manual is here, but the Model number you posted is for the outside unit, not the inside unit where the filter is. Front usually lifts up and you slide the filter out and wash it.

Where is the filter

Air filters are on the air entering side of most equipment. Thee supply blows air at you. The return air(air entering) pulls air into the unit. What unit?

Direction of flow air conditioner filter

There are quite a few possible answers to this because you did not specify what type of unit you are asking about: Central Air, Window unit, Stand-alone-upright Unit, etc.
If this is a central-air unit or a unit that uses your furnace blower to circulate air, then in most cases the filter is a square or rectangular shape and is between 1 and 4 inches thick. The "Direction" the air flows through the filter is indicated by a set of arrows printed on the thin edge of the filter - usually with the word "flow" or "Air flow". Insert the filter with the arrow(s) pointing toward the furnace/blower. Another way to determine flow direction is if the filter has a mesh or screen on one side of the filter media. In this case the screen or mesh would go toward the furnace/blower when the filter is inserted.

I have a Rheem Heat and air unit. Model # RGAC-080AW Serial # CM3D104 F4782 4794 and need to find out where the filter for the unit is located.

What filter are you talking about?
Air filter: Usually with a heat and air unit, the air filter is located behind the return air grill.
Return air grill looks similar to ordinary ceiling or floor grill where the hot or cold air blows into each room. Except the return air grill is larger and is usually put close to the heat-air unit.
Remove the grill and replace filter every 3-6 months.
If no filter is present, then dust and hair get stuck on the coils and unit will not meet temperature setting.

I get a message to clean filter. I removed back but could not find filter. Cleaned all visible dust and reinstalled back. Worked great for 2 months and got message again. Next day worked ok again. ...

hi,
To clan the air filter you have to remove the projection unit. You can see the projection unit behind the lamp blast board. There are three air filters in this unit. You have to clean these air filters. I have added the picture which showa the location of air filters. If you can give your email address the i will sent the service manual. Which will help you to remove and clean these Air filters. Remember one thing remove lamp first then only remove the projection unit from the rear side.
OK

How to change air filter on a 2009 hyundai sonata

Hi there, here are a few steps to help you out:
  • Turn the Sonata off to eliminate the risk of engine backfires while changing the air filter. Leave the car off until the filter has been replaced or there is risk of injury.
  • Lift the hood of the Sonata. Locate the air filter housing unit on the passenger side of the car, in the front corner. Look for a black, plastic cylinder that has an accordion-type hose attached to it that leads to the engine.
  • Remove the air intake hose and air duct from the housing unit. Disconnect the connector for the air-flow sensor from the filter cover. Unclip the clip on the filter cover. Lift the cover off the housing unit.
  • Take out the old filter from the housing unit. Remove any remaining debris out of the air filter unit. Wipe the inner and outer surfaces of the housing unit with a damp cloth.
  • Place the new air filter in the housing unit. Use a K&N air filter, part number 33-2346.
  • Replace the cover on the housing unit and clip it in place. Reattach the air-flow sensor. Put the air intake hose and air duct back in place on the housing unit.
Best of luck....

Will not ignite after replacing air filters

Hi,
Clearly a problem with the new filter.

Does it have a check valve built in?

Try to get a flow through it without the nozzle attatched - and often there is a small sintered filter attatched behind the nozzle anyway. take off nozzle and try priming (without igniting obviously).

Could be air in there so needs priming. Often heaters shut down if air is present - so need to be bled of air. If you can pre-fill the filter, or bleed air at a joint just after the filter - this usually works.

Please rate at Fixya if this solves the problem. - It is free, and I improve my score if you do.
Thank you.

Which way does the filter face?

You guys are not nuts. It is hard enough just to get people to change the filters in the first place:) You are right. The filter is filtering the air as it goes into the unit. The little arrow on the filter should point at the unit (away from the duct). Good Luck!
