I think I had and now have again the same issue. I called a repair man who replace the entire control panel. He state the moisture caused it to blow out. The moisture???? it's a dishwasher. Well a year later the problem has returned. I can only use one setting at this point.

Most dishwashers that employ this setting use a lower temperature for the water and also they do not use the element to dry the dishes, they are air dried. China and crystal are very sensitive to changes in temperature and can crack easily. They should always be washed by hand however if you have to use the dishwasher make sure you have a mild detergent. No bleach or acid should be contained. If it says citrus anything it has acid in it. Also use half the amount of detergent regardless of its strength. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
