Question about KitchenAid KESC308LSS Electric Kitchen Range

Open Question

I have a KitchenAid KESC308LSSO Electric Range. It's around 6 years old. Today, the electronic control/display panel went out. No LED's light; however, when any buttons are pressed on the panel, it responds with a beep -- which lets me know that it recognizes that buttons are being pressed. Also, when I press the Oven Light button, the oven light does, in fact, toggle on and off in response to the control panel. Also, the mechanical (rotary) knobs that control the cooktop burners are working -- i.e., the burners turn on and heat up correctly in response to the control knobs. The problem is that the LED display info is all dark; so there's no way to set or control the oven. Has anyone seen a problem like this before with a KitchenAid Range? Any idea what went wrong, or how to fix this?

F2:E0 is shorted keypad, and F2:E1 is no keypad connection, you need to replace the keypad.

You can find schematics and find replacements by entering model number here.

Pull the range, remove the back cover and locate the thermal switch and the oven TOD. Check both parts for continuity. Replace any of them if it's open.

SOURCE: Kitchen-Aid Electric control panel buttons stopped working

This may sound facetious, so don't get offended.
Did you set your clock to the correct time?
Did you clear any and all preset timers?
If none of that helps you can usually find roaches in the strangest places. If you have no roaches, then moisture and heat are the likely culprits which means that your blister pads are simply worn out. Unfortunately these are coated with graphite and don't last forever, so a timer replacement would be your only option unless your touchpad is separate from your timer.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

No power to the oven, even LED not lit - gas range on top works OK 0 checked power to oven OK too.

Order part #W10017820 (do this first before you open up the range). While you are waiting for the part to arrivedown load the parts list from kitchenaid.com. When you have the part, Shut offpower to the range. Then remove part 9762612Vent, Center (pull the oven door toward you, you will see four screws). Before you proceed, place a stool with booksor a **** of paper or what ever it takes to equal the height of the bottom ofthe control panel. Then remove part 4457249Face, Control Panel (two screws, right and left, under panel). DO NOT DROP PANEL. The panel is connected via wires so please be careful. Set the panel on the raised surface that youcreated. Replace part W10017820. Replace control panel. Replacecenter vent. Restore power to unit. RP appears in display. Set clock. You're good to go.

You will need a new igniter module. The igniter module is told to spark by the control panel. There is also a flame detection for electronic start and that could be bad too.

F2-EO indicatwes a shorted key pad. Electronic parts on ranges sometimes have warranty for five years (may only cover parts) so check your owners manual to see what your warranty is then call for service. It is a good idea to save reciepts of repair for future reference if neccessary.

LED display not working

Did somebody use the control lock by accident. Here is how to disable it. Hopefully it will work: The Control Lock feature shuts down the control panel pads to avoid unintended use of the oven. The Control Lock feature may be used either when the range is in use or turned off (for example, during cleaning). To lock/unlock control: Before locking, make sure the oven, the timer, and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold the START pad for 5 seconds until ?CONTROL LOCK? appears on the display. Repeat to unlock, and ?CONTROL LOCK? will disappear from the display. Hope this helps Jason

Oven is not working

Both elements are controlled by a common relay on the ERC (Electronic Control Card) and cannot be repaired. The ERC needs replaced. This is also referred to as the Clock/Display.
