a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

IBM Thinkpad T30 2366 won't boot after the IBM Thinkpad screen

you can go to the BIOS setting? if you can, look for "Boot Device Priority" or something like that,it's usually placed on Advanced settings. Set the first boot device as your harddisk, save the settings and restart your computer
Please let me know if it's working or not

IBM thinkpad turns on but screen stays black.....

Hi, This issue is clearly hardware and might be related to 3 part, Inverter card, LCD cable or LCD Panel ( Or systemboard, just to make sure try with an external display if the issue reproduce it's systemboard/graphic card related, if not LCD related ). If you are still entitled to warranty then this hardware failure is covered by the terms. You should have the 3 parts stated below replaced as it s a common issue with Thinkpads.
In case you are out of warranty cover you still can try to subscribe to a warranty extension, you can check on www.lenovo.com , otherwise you might want to order theses parts on a website such as ebay. To swap the pieces requires quiet advanced skills as you have to take down the whole computer, obviously LCD Panel included. Unfortunalty this is hardware related, not much you can do... I hope this help ! Thanks and have a nice day ! J -

IBM ThinkPad 380Z LCD Inverter

Glad to see you found your cable. The inverter would be my best guess, then possibly the back light, but more than likely the inverter.

Screen is blank or black

it maybe sounds a little like a problem in explorer.

try to start you computer up, press F8 within the windows loader appears. then select :start up the same way as last time it worked.

now it should work. if not then format the pc.
if you have a lot of important stuff on it you can download the ubuntu livecd and use it the get all of your stuff out of the disk.

hope that works.
