Hi.
This happens from time to time, and it seems like it happens more with windows vista/windows 7 more than all the other operating systems.

If you go to realtek.com, they have high definition audio drivers that will work for your HP.

Just go to their site, select audio drivers, select the one that matches your operating system, and download it.
Install the software, and then reboot.

Let the pc boot all the way up, and then check your audio, it should be working now.

I hope tihs helps you out, and good luck !

Is this in Device Manager? Did you notice this after the Win 7 upgrade? If so , it's a common problen when upgrading, Is that the only issue? Your Card Reader work? Modem? Co-processor? I have a HP Pavilion DV9320us I loaded Win 7 64bit Ultimate on with similar issues, modem, co-processor, card reader, etc. Use the Win Vista drivers, modify the drivers for Win 7. HP drivers found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=ca&dlc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001&lc=en&product=3548477& AND change compatibility of drivers , This will give you the general idea: http://www.techsupportforum.com/4478-installing-a-device-driver-under-compatibility-mode-in-windows-7/

I downgraded from vista to xp and now i need a sound driver compatible for my gateway:w34oui

This is another tough one.
Since GW does not have Win XP drivers available for your system, it will be difficult to find a sound driver that will work. You could try to use the Vista driver, but I would be skeptical that it will work to use that driver because of the way that sounds are processed in Vista/Win 7.
You didn't mention why you did the downgrade, but if it was performance related, Win 7 should work fine with your system. If there was a certain program etc., that you need, there is another option.
There are many USB soundcards that will will work well with Win XP, and they should not have the XP problem since their hardware is designed to work with XP. Note: If you go this route, make sure you choose one that is Win XP compatible. One other thing on this option, though. Your internal speakers may not route sound through the USB soundcard, which would mean then that you would need external speakers to get sound. I understand that may be a deal-breaker, which is why I would (unless you specifically need XP) either go back to Vista or upgrade to Win 7. Some version of Win 7 feature "XP mode" which allows you to run programs in a virtual Win XP environment. I have not had perfect luck getting XP programs to work, but it's worth a try.

Driver required for hp printer 3108

Hi Masifrizvi,

This is hopefully a simple issue to resolve.

Go online:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4062&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=447811#N654

Select your operating system and download the driver, often times the cds packaged with the printers only come packaged with a few Operating Systems.
Once downloaded you should be able to install the driver.

I upgraded my hp a1240n with windows 7 but Ihave no sound

1. Check under device manager if you have audio device driver.
2. If no device driver download the audio device driver (check if you have win 7 32 bit or 64bit this is important) if there is audio device driver uninstall and reinstall the driver.

Check the link below from HP.
1. Go to the link
2. Go to > Select your product
3. Select operating system
4. Below there will be the list of drivers

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=1118267

If you were able to install the driver for win 7 and still nothing happen it is a posible hardware issue.

Uptodate with windows 7 no sound at all all working before

as of now there are no available device drivers for audio that support the win 7 system, there are many cases like these when a user switch to win 7 they encounter no audio, you will just have to wait until the product manufacturer releases a device driver that support win 7 operating system
