Question about Sony Network Walkman NWZ-S545 Digital Media Player

1 Answer

I can't seem to get the media player to recognize my video file. I've converted from an avi file to a wmv file, but I can see it in the video folder on the computer, but when I disconnect to play the player - the video doesn't show. Thanks

I can answer this one from experience. If you have the NWZ-S545 like I do, then this solution will allow you to play videos on your mp3 player with ease. It works like a charm for me.

The screen size of the player is about 320 x 240 resolution...so that's the size the video needs to be. Here is how to do that step by step.

Step One: Download FormatFactory (It is a free media file converter. It works on music, videos, pictures, and mobile files, I have given the site below this step)

http://www.formatoz.com/index.html

Step Two: Open FormatFactory

Step Three: Click on "All to MP4" in the Video tab on the left side.

Step Four: Add all the videos that you wish to put on the Walkman and click okay

Step Five: Select all of those videos and right click. There will be an option that says "Output setting" Click it

Step Six: Left click on video size and select 320x240 Standard from the drop down menu

Step Seven: Click Start at the top and enjoy

Make sure to check where the converted files are going to be placed. Once they are converted, put them on your mp3. This should work, if not, feel free to send me a message/email on either here or at the email below.

NEED TO USE THE PHILIPS MEDIA CONVERTER APPLICATION PROVIDED TO CONVERT FILES TO FORMAT THAT THE PLAYER CAN READ

Hello,

All support for the SA6045/02 is on this page:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=SA6045/02&slg=en&scy=GB
Scroll down to Software and drivers to see the Media Converter software.

Click the zip file and best would be to save the file to a location on your computer.
After the download finished, unzip the file with WinZip or Winrar.
Open the folders of the extracted files:
under folder
MC_2.0.2.80_SA33xx_SA61xx_Intl_GM_CD02004_0928 start Setup.exe to install Media Converter Software, ArcSoft.

MediaConverter for Philips converts following formats to player, into WMV :
AVI (Microsoft video I format), MPEG-1, 2, 4, DVD (*.vob), MOV, WMV, RM etc.
Needs Quicktime (for MOV) and Windows Media Player 11 (for WMV)
installations.

  1. First, download Prism video converter. It's a freeware software to convert multiple kinds of video files. You can click the following link to start the setup.
  2. Install the software. If you want, install the other features also, but for this task just the video converter is needed.
  3. Open Prism video converter. On the upper left corner, you'll see a plus symbol for "add file".
  4. Click on this "add file". Now open the AVI file you want to convert.
  5. On the left bottom corner is written "output format". Choose WMV to convert your file into a WMV file.
  6. Click "browse". Now choose the folder where you want

Finding format type WMV

The Philips Media Converter only recognizes certain file types. If it is not recognizing the file format of the videos that you have, you will need to download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder - you can use this program to convert your videos to AVI format - it takes a while - if your video is 15 minutes, it will take about 15 minutes to convert it, usually. Once the videos are in AVI format the Philips Media Converter will recognize them.

Video does not work on my Coby MP705-2g

I worked on this all day and FINALLY found the solution. Are you ready for this!

The video converter that comes with the player actually does work but it will only convert WMV's to the correct AVI format for the player. Here's what works for me and has worked ever since I found the solution.

Download the Prism Video Converter. It's free and works. Use that converter to make your videos into WMV's. Then use the converter that comes with the player to convert the WMV's to the correct AVI format for the player. After the videos are converted to the correct format for the player move them to the Data Folder and enjoy!
