Question about Technics SL-MC7 110-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

I never had any problems with my Technics cd jukebox. Love he machine. So I was really surprised when I recently used it. First off, the music was "mega" distorted and the volume, even on the lowest setting was blaring. Not thinking it could be the CD player, I had my Tecnics power amp taken in to a professional for a cleaning and check-upo. After I got the power amp back and had the same problems, it's then that I decided to see if the CD player was the problem. It was, because when I played a record on my turntable, the power amp performed perfectly. I have had the CD player in an enclosed bookcase with plenty of ventilation and no adverse conditions or prolonged use. The problem "just cam out of nowhere". Please give me any suggestions or direction because at this time, it looks like I may have to take it in for and inspection. Again, the problem is the outrageous volume, even at the lowest, very first setting on my power amps volume control ... and acute distortion akin to a turntable needle being clogged with fuzz and debris. Thank you very much for your help, I appreciate any direction you can give me. Tony

If your cd player is the problem you should get a new one. They are very cheap and its an easy fix.

IM TRYING TO COVERT MY WURLITZER 1015 OMT CD JUKEBOX TO PLAY MY IPOD WHAT DO I NEED TO GET.

To make the jukebox automatically switch between jukebox CDs and the IPOD source, you'll need the background music adaptor. I have these in stock, but need to know which amplifier is in your machine, as different amplifier types require different BGM units. Please email tech@wurlitzer-ohio.com

Distortion on analog input of Technics SA-DA10.

Solved it... Turns out it was the connection between my "Tape Out" on my DA10, and "In" on my (Philips) DCC deck that caused some sort of (ground?)loop. Removing this connection solved my problem. Can't believe it took me so long to figure this out! Anyway, i'm very happy with this, since i really love this amp, and i felt really bad about this sudden weird distortion thing. My faith in the Technics brand has been restored, as has my appreciation for this lovely piece of gear :)

I had the exact same thing with my Technics SU-A808 stereo amp, btw.

The fault is one or the other unit unless you have some sort of physical drag on the CD. There is a problem playing copy CDs too. Some work some dont.

You need to use the Digital Jukebox utility from Panny. I am going to test it out this weekend.

Scratched cds

anything can be repaired . with enough money and time anyways..
I don't understand why the discs would be getting scratched though.... the only thing that touches the readable surface is a laser.
Maybe the unit is just dirty. Call a local repair shop and ask how much to clean it up... I had a CD jukebox with a 600 disc changer cleaned for under $100 not long ago.

Loss of music library

Uninstall everything from your PC, reboot, reinstall driver and the Explorer (I do not use MediaSource, only the Explorer).

If it didn't work out follow these steps:

1. Uninstall Creative Media Source and all related software.
2. Install the driver. In the installation CD the driver is usually in \Drivers\English
3. Turn on the Nomad an connect it to the PC.
4. Install MediaSource(the program requires that you have the nomad connected while installing)
5. Install MediaSource plugin
6. Try transferring files.

If you?re still running into problem know that there are other programs capable of handling MediaSource?s functions, such as - Portable Audio Devices Power Toy , NomadSync, Real player, and there?s also a Zen plugin for the Winamp.

Good luck!
