External speakers typically need a power source to run them, like a stereo or surround system.....AND this source is typically not from the tv, but rather the cable box.

What cord do I need to hook subwoofer up

You need the power cord that should already be attached, plus a single RCA patch cord to connect to your source. You could use just one of a typical RCA pair, if that's all you have.

I have a Califone 1410 K and would like to hook it up to my stereo receiver. Can anyone tell me if this will work and, if so, what kind of cord I need for the external speaker jack? Thanks so much!

a big plug jack would work, like the kind used for guitars to amplifiers. I have one a friend of mine made for me (he works in a music shop) and it goes in the "external speaker" hole to the amp pretty simple.

They will stay on if you are just hooking up the speakers. If you want the TV speakers to shut off, use a stereo system or something to switch audio inputs.

Have inherited a ferguson record and tape combination player studio 20D and its a wonderful piece of equipment but I cannot get any sound out of it and I was wondering if i HAVE TO BUY SPEAKERS for it...

Most of those old relics had built-in speakers, which may be dead by now or simply disabled.

Barring that, the audio output could be run to any audio device (EXCEPT PHONO which is reserved for turntables).

There are many open-reel forums online where you might post questions for enthusiasts to answer.

I bought some surround sound speakers 3-5 years ago and they recently have not been working properly. First I have to make sure the external sound card is plugged into the computer so it will register it,...

first did all of these speakers work together at any stage
if not you will have to get yourself an external sound card possibly a usb portable/removable sound card

CAn I hook up externa speakers for the jute box Rock Ola 480

That depends if you have skp out or a head phone jack .If so the RCA out jack would
have to go to the input of your amp.

or the head phone jack could directley
drive a small set speakers , the 1/4 or 1/8
head phone jack plug wire from a old
pair of head phones would be strip and
wired to small external spk , or driectly
to the auido amp But keep the volume
on the Rock Ola very low if you
chose the latter ,as not to over drive
your amp.

for spicifics

External speakers

Hi,

Unfortunately no. The Panasonic PT-60LCX64 TV does not have any jacks, plugs or external connection point to attach he wires of external speakers.

Alternately however, it is possible to install 2 pairs of speaker terminals on the backboard and wire them in parallel to the internal speakers.

Hope this be of help/information. Good luck and kind regards.
