This job requires special tools. It will not be JUST the king pins, but the surfaces that the pins touch, also. This job requires tools to remove, reinstall and fit the pins. I suggest a shop for this job.

Remove the road wheels, remove front hub from stub axles, remove the cotter pin nut and drive out the pin, remove the welch plug on the top of the king pin and with a drift drive the pin through the axle, press the old bushes from the stub axle and press in new bushes, ream the bushes till the king pin will just slide in .Then assemble make sure there is no play between the pivot bearing and stub axle use shims if required.
In general terms, you would remove the front wheels, remove the retainer clip or lock for each pin, and drive the pins out with a brass punch or other tool. Then the bushings can be replaced.
I would suggest getting a repair manual for the car or for that era since each make is different. Sometimes a special puller is needed.
I take it that this is a Ford car in which case I doubt very much that it has king pins in the front end. It will have either an upper and lower ball joints in control arms or a lower ball joint on the end of a strut. Ford ball joints are riveted in from factory and the rivets have to drilled out and the new ball joints will have the correct bolts to replace the rivets IN the case of a strut the lower ball joint is replaced as above and the strut will have a replaceable insert in it that you can remove and fit a new insert in place . Ford stopped using king pins when they gave away "I" beam front axles .
Hi this is a common prob with vtnz over here i had a similar prob had been taking my car 4 a wof there for years and then suddenly they pick up on things they had been passing for years, anyhow the only reason for failing brake hoses thay you have replaced will be the concern for the wear and tear on the car body, but if the mechanics agree they are legal and vtnz wont budge it might pay to get a written letter or them (the mechs) to ring the vtnz office in question. If all else fails there is actually a complaints procedure on the back of the wof itself. goodluck
Is this bronco twin I beam with king pin and bushings or does it have control arms. BOTH avail that year. IF it is king pin and bushing front end.. that is your problem . JUST replace the king pin and bushings
Remember SAFETY FIRST. Jack up the right rear wheel, support the axle with a jack stand, remove the wheel, the brake drum, the banjo cover or differential cover. Allow the gear oil to drain out into you drain pan, carefully and slowly spin the ring gear (watch out not to pinch your fingers) look for a small bolt that is restraining the king pin, remove the bolt and then carefully slide the pin out !(don't spin the axles or ring gear while the pin is out) if you do the bushings and spider gers will move out of their places. After the pin is out then go over to the exposed axle and push it in until it stops. Go back over to the pumpkin and look inside, for a "U" shaped washer it will be on the end of the axle. Remove it from the axle. Now you can remove the axle and replace the wheel seal. Either rent a seal installing tool or carefully use a block of wood and evenly install the seal. If you kink or damage the new seal remove it and try it again. When you put everything back together put a little thread lock on the bolt for the king pin. dont over tighten it, could snap it. I highly recommend that you have a press available, they dont screw in unfortunatly. To change uper ball joints; Remove tire Pull codder pin and remve nut Tap ball joint out of wheel/ brake assembly Remove upper control arm compleatly Use Press to push old ball joint out of controll arm. A torch may be nessisary to heat controll arm. Press new ball joint all the way into controll arm Reinstall every thing Get a professional front end alignment. Good lcuk and hope this helps.
