Question about Nikon D2X Digital Camera

2 Answers

During use the battery symbol often begins flashing and showing empty despite being fully charged and the camera stops working. I have bought a new battery and the problem persists. When I take the battery out and replace it back inside the camera after a few seconds the battery shows as full and the camera continues working until the problem reoccurs. Please can you help in diagnosing the problem. Thank you in advance - Darren.

I had the same problem but when i changed the small 3 volt (CR1616 type)
the problem vanished.
You can find the battery compartment when you take out the big (EN-EL4 type) from its compartment and flip over the camera, there you will see a small sliding cover.

Low battery showing replacing batteries does not solve problem

The flashing low battery symbol is the way Canon film cameras showed that the camera has had an error and has stopped functioning. It can have multiple causes - but for a quick check remove the lens, turn off the camera and then turn it back on - see if the symbol stops flashing. A problem with the lens can also cause this problem (usually a failure of the aperture unit)

Even after putting a new fully charged battery camera shows battery empty

The reason you are still getting this error despite the fact that you've placed a new fully charged battery means that the battery is not compatible with the camera. The fact that it states this is because the battery isn't capable of handling the Olympus camera. I would suggest for you to buy a recommended battery pack by Olympus, or a rechargeable battery pack to avoid these errors.

Camera shows battery exhausted with new batteries.

You should be using Nickel metal Hydride batteries (NiMH). Do not use Nickel Cadmuim(NiCd), Zinc carbon or alkaline.

Not charging?

Please plug the camera charger in AC Outlet and hook it to camera. Check camera power turn ON, works fine? if OK, switch it to Standby / Off mode. Attach battery and check any charging light lit? If yes, leave the camera on charging position for 4-5 hours until its charge light flashs or turn Off. battery is chaged now. Have fun :)

False low battery warning

Same thing happened to me when I used alkaline batteries. Have you tried fully charged NiMH? If not you may have a "leak". Your next option is the service center.

Canon MV550i Mini DV Digital- red flashing symbol

from canon's support page:

This symbol indicates an empty or missing backup battery. The backup battery allows the camcorder to retain date, time and other settings when the main power source is removed.
The flashing symbol is not recorded by the camcorder so you can continue filming without problems.

To stop the flashing symbol remove the old backup battery and replace it with a new one, or recharge the built-in lithium battery if the camcorder has a built-in rechargeable battery.
Note: when the backup battery runs out during filming please do not remove the power supply (battery pack) before the camcorder is powered from a household power source and power adapter, or the user settings and date/time will be reset.

For more detailed information please consult the instruction manual.
