The fireplace is brand new. When the store owner delivered it, it instantly started making a "noise" like there was a part loose. It hasn't gotten any better. Help!

If it's an Electric Fireplace, what you hear is the flame effect rod that's rotating, when you have the flames ON. It's probably out of place from shipping. If you have your Owners Manual, it will tell you how to access the light bulbs, which will give you access to the rod.

Hope this helps solve the problem.

Hunter Douglas fan humming noise

Which make/model do you have. If you bought a store brand ( Home Depot or Lowes ) it's a low-end Hunter. All you can do is take it back & get a new one and hope it's better. You can also try a fan control and see if that helps. Remember, you get what you pay for!

Noisy fan on electric fireplace

My recommendation would be to contact a fireplace showroom that sells electric fireplaces. It would be best if you could inspect your fireplace for the sticker that identifies the fireplace's brand and model#. The primary concern is contacting a showroom that is able to order parts for that brand...

Pilot light 5301

The Skytech 5301 does not control your pilot light. That is a function of your fireplace's valve. Complete instructions for lighting your pilot can be found in the owner's manual of your fireplace, or at the brand's website.
The 5301 should not need to be reset in any way. Once your pilot is re-lit it will operate normally.
If you need a new copy of the 5301 manual, it can be found at the bottom of the product page here: Skytech 5301 fireplace remote.

I am thinking about getting the balmoral electric fireplace but i would like to see a manual

Bonnie, this fireplace just hit the market and to view an Owner's Manual you'll have to find one at a store that's selling the. However, as far as electric fireplaces go, you could look at any brand or manufacturer's Owners Manual and 98% of it would be the same. Some light bulbs turning on a rod to generate the flame look on a black background and faus glowing embers. Add a 1500 watt electric and you have it. I find it interesting that this electric fireplce is designed to be mounted on a wall, like a big flat screen TV and it has a heater. Problem with that is, all the heat stays on the ceiling.

My experience with selling electric fireplaces (From the most expensive to the cheapest) has not been good. All of them would function well for about 9 months to a year and then problems galore. with the exception of one or 2 brands are imported from China.

Hope this helped you. Thanks for choosing Fixya.

Stove is brand new. turned oven on for 30 minutes for initial burn, open door, but it won't shut completly, why?

You don't provide a make or model number, but if it's new, look in the Owner Manual for door malfunctions. Call the store where you bought it and tell them of the problem.

MY washer starts grinding when it starts a cycle

OK, are you certain that the shipping bolts were removed when the washer was delivered and installed? I've had folks that complained after 3-4 years that they're front loading washer was now making all sorts of strange noises when their kids came home from college and really stuffed the washer with clothes, etc.

Check the installation and owners manual for the diagram that shows the shipping bolts that should have been removed from the rear of the washer when it was installed in your home. There are usually 2-4 of these, depending on the brand/model of washer.

If the shipping bolts have been removed (all of them!) then you can pull the washer out from the wall and see if there is something that might be hitting the drive belt/motor underneath the washer. It's possible that a tub suspension spring(s) and/or pulley(s) may have come off their mount causing the noise.

Another thing to look at is to see if the pulley on the motor shaft has come loose and might be causing the noise, as it might have worked loose but still catches on the keyway in the shaft enough to still function.

I usually pull the unit away from the wall with the hoses hooked up so I can remove the rear cover and watch everything while I run the unit through a short wash cycle. That is a quick and easy way to see what might be causing the noise. From there, you can start to focus in on different areas to verify or eliminate them as the noise source. Of course, it goes without saying, be very careful not to get your hands caught while the machine is running and unplug it before you reach in and start feeling around the unit.
