Open Question

If the image is working, the microphone isn't and vice versa. I've tried re-installing and getting new drivers. Please help. This problem started when I hadn't used my camera for about a year.

Try right click on driver and run as administrator. Then try right click on file, then properties, then compatibility, then run as vista or win7 as if it's a vista machine win7 files won't be supported and vice versa but sometimes this will make them work.

Microphone on imicro webcam not working

Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there if you are have trouble with your webcam Click start control panel administrative tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down or click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll to image devices image devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Which-version-of-DirectX-is-on-your-computer click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it or select audio from the microphone drop down list make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or select the voice tab and make sure that you have the right media selected also select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it also during a video call at the top of your screen you will see an option to for a video call using yahoo messenger this might vary if you are using another messenger service

Microphone Not Working!

If this is a microphone that connects to the 3.5 mm microphone jack, check that your microphone is connected to the Mic port (pink on the rear of a desktop). Make sure that the plug is fully seated. If you are using a front microphone jack on a desktop, try using the rear port (or vice versa). Next, if you have Windows, check that the audio input is set to Microphone, instead of Line In. (For Windows 7, this would be Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage Audio Devices (under Sound) and the recording tab.) Microphone should be your default device.

Next try uninstalling the audio driver and letting Windows reinstall the driver. Use the Device Manager (under Devices and Printers in the Hardware and Sound Control Panel). Expand the section labeled Sound, video and game controllers. Then right click on the Audio driver. Click on Uninstall then reboot the computer after the driver is removed. The correct driver should be reinstalled. (I believe that you do not have a separate driver for the microphone under Windows but you should make certain of that.) Check for driver updates as well. The Windows Update may list these as Optional updates.

If you have a USB microphone, try a different port. Also check for drivers from the manufacturer.

If you have an Apple or Unix OS, check for similar issues with the connection or drivers.

I hope this helps.

(who had a similar problem with Audacity recording on the line in port last month; I fixed the problem by uninstalling the audio driver and then reinstalling it. Then changing the Recording Source to Line In finished the fix. The driver got changed by a computer tune-up utility (registry cleaner).)

moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.pngYour front panel audio / microphone connector has an AC97 connector inside which looks like this:

It is probably plugged into the motherboard somewhere. Try plugging it into the soundcard directly if it is in the motherboard. Or vice versa if it is plugged into the soundcard.

Switching problem

this is done in regional settings. It's a common fault caused by having your UK keyboard on US settings or vice versa.

Open control panel in classic view and double click 'Regional and Language Options' to start the applet. Click on the keyboards tab and set it to your style of keyboard.

Hope that helps. Please remember to rate this solution if you found it useful. Thanks for using FixYa,

1934 installation problem

I have no magic solutions for this problem, and I?m guessing you?ve already tried what I?m going to suggest, but if not maybe you should try that: 1. are you using a laptop? The card you?re using might be a Cardbus, which usually isn?t supported by laptops because of BIOS settings. 2. It might also be a driver problem. Disconnect the card, remove it, remove the drivers. Restart the computer and reinstall the drivers. Turn the computer off. Reconnect the card and only then turn the computer on again. Wait a few minutes (sometimes it takes a few minutes for the computer to recognize new software). I don?t know if it would work, but it?s worth giving a shot.
