Question about Lexmark All-in-One Printer with PictBridge

Lexmark all-in-one x3550-x45500

I keep getting a pop up that says "device monitor application has encountered a problem and needs to close"==can you help me? also on my window on printer it says "application list" then does nothing

    uninstalled Lexmark all-n-one printer,but it still appears in my Add and Remove programs list

I think this is a known problem with the original product. First, try to uninstall and then install the latest driver from Lexmark's website:

  1. Go to the Lexmark Find Drivers/Product Selector page.
  2. Enter Lexmark X3550 under "Search by Model", and click the Search button.
  3. Select your OS from the dropdown (XP, Vista etc.).
  4. Click Download Now.
  5. If you're asked to Save or Run, choose to Run (it keeps you from having to go find the file and double-click it later).

If that doesn't work, you should call tech support at 1-800-332-4120 (in US, for other countries go to lexmark.com and click on Support) and tell them what's happening, and ask if there's a firmware update to the printer which they can apply that could solve the problem.

Device monitor application problem


Make sure that the Lexmark Imaging Studio program is running. This was installed when you set up your printer.
If you see the multi-colored icon in your task bar for Lexmark Imaging Studio then try pressing the scan mode button twice. You should be able to scan then.

Go to :http://downloads.lexmark.com, and see if there is an updated DRIVER PACKAGE or UPDATE PATCH you can download. If not, contact LEXMARK TECHNICAL SUPPORT, and they can help you resolve this issue.

Is your scanner connected DIRECTLY to the port on the computer or is it going through a docking station or usb hub?

if it's the latter I suggest you try direct connection and also try different USB ports on the computer after a REBOOT each time.

Device monitor application problem


you know some of the operating system if there is a corrupted file or dll some of the printers, USB and other devices in-counter this kind of problem you need to fix first your operating system then after that remove your printer driver and re-install again then then try to scan again..... hope this solution help you...
