where is that fuse usually located?

  • Tim Venetis Mar 21, 2011

It should be in the same area as the other fuses for your car.

  • prestigehack Mar 21, 2011

Just wondering would the level of coolant (anti-freeze).. could that be the issue??

  • Tim Venetis Mar 21, 2011

Your level of antifreze has a lot to do with it yes but when you turned the heater on did you hear the fan motor come on

  • prestigehack Mar 21, 2011

No when I turn the heater on nothing happens...

  • Tim Venetis Mar 21, 2011

either your heater motor is not getting current or the motor is burned out.

  • prestigehack Mar 21, 2011

if the motor is not getting any current is that like a circuit fix?? like it was working a few days ago, and for the motor are those usually expensive?

  • Tim Venetis Mar 21, 2011

Like it said i could be a bad fues causing motor to get no current and if it is a bad motor maybe you could buy a used one from a junk yard.

  • prestigehack Mar 21, 2011

we'll I checked the fuses today and the none of them are bad (all still connected none burnt looking)..

  • Tim Venetis Mar 22, 2011

There might also be a fusable link in the wiring to the heater motor. Take a voltmeter and with the switch on see if you are getting current to the heater motor. not sure where the fusable link would be but if it is bad you could bend the wire easily in the bad spot.

  • prestigehack Mar 23, 2011

Alright we'll today I took my jeep into my school shop and I took out the blower Motor and we tested it with a car battery and it does spin so it works..

we tested the wire(plug) going to the blower motor and there is power running to it.. we replaced all the fuses and it still doesn't work.. Any other thoughts?

  • Tim Venetis Mar 23, 2011

If you are getting power to the motor it should work. With the motor out plug it in to the wire connection and see if it spins. If there is a ground wire make sure that is clean.

Heat problem. Heater only works sometimes. Blows out almost AC temperature majority of the time. No engine overheating problems. May or may not be related to actuator issue (vent always open)

Check to see if your heating system is properly filled. Air in system can often prevent the proper flow of hot coolant into the radiator core resulting in your issue.

Coolant leaks heavily from passengers side. Started yesterday morning on the way to work. I noticed the vents weren't blowing hot air. Then I noticed the car start to overheat. I didn't drive any more...

Ok, may i suggest that you check your HEATER COIL, you can located it by pulling up " HEATER COIL" for your specific vehicle, this is what your coolant travels thru while hot and air passes thru this coil to produce the heat to warm your vehicle and typically the heater coils are located on the passenger side. Now as far as the leak location, check heater coil connections it could be the coil itself. GOOD LUCK!

95 honda passport heater does not work. Fan turns on but no heat. No clue what it could be. I noticed the problem after I had a radio installed and the automatic transmission rebuilt.

May be in the radio installation. I hate pointing fingers at the last guy who worked on stuff, but they could have hit a blend door.

When car is warmed up, turn heat on vent and like 3/4 power for fan. Turn temp knob from hot to cold. You are looking for a temperature change. Now, turn on a/c to vent. Wait for it to blow cold. Turn temp knob to hot. Looking for air to be warmer that it was. POST RESULTS

I have a 93 4runner v6 manual. I went to turn the heater on the other day and no air was coming out of it but when I started driving down the freeway air started coming through the vents. When I stop

sounds like your fan is either jamned, burnt out or even frozen, you might be lucky and find its just a blown fuse, you'll need to check your fuses box then start investigating if the fan turns freely or not

if you put the air on recirc you might be able to stop cold air blowing in when you are travelling. if you are waiting for a garage to sort out the fault then get a fan powered by the cigarette lighter, air moving over the window should at least keep mist clear even if it doesnt defrost it

Heater blows cold air from top vents after running for 1.3 hours

Sounds like you may be able to fix it by flushing your antifreeze and back flushing the heater core. Some car owners cheep out and put stop leak into the antifreeze, others dont change there antifreeze at all. Both are mistakes.
