Hello Kenneth,

It would help to know the model numbers of the Sony DVD player and the LG TV, so I can provide 100% specific instructions, but it's not vital.

The first thing to do it make absolutely certain that the DVD player is connected to the TV. I know you said that nobody has touched the cables, but it's best to be sure. Once you have done this, please follow these step-by-step instructions:

1. Switch on the TV and the DVD player
2. Insert a disc in the DVD player and press PLAY (>) on the Sony remote - or use the PLAY button on the front of the player.

This ensures there is a signal / picture being sent to the TV to help you locate the correct input setting on the TV. If the Sony DVD player is a DVD/VCR combination, make sure the player is in DVD mode, not VCR.

3. Press the INPUT button (usually top right) on the LG remote to open the input list, then use the arrow keys (UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT) to highlight an input and press OK.

** Not all LG TVs have an INPUT button and an input list. Some use a button labelled TV/VIDEO for switching to an external input. If your LG remote does not have an INPUT button, press the TV/VIDEO button slowly and repeatedly until you can see the picture from the DVD player on the TV screen.

This should be all you need to do to watch a DVD. Once you have finished watching a DVD you will need to switch the TV back to the correct input for the U-Verse box. To do this, simply use the INPUT or TV/VIDEO button again on the LG remote again as above until the TV channels are displayed on the TV screen.

Hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please let me know the following details and I will provide 100% specific instructions for your TV and DVD player.

1. Model number of TV
2. Model number of DVD player
3. How is the DVD player connected to the TV, e.g. Composite, Component, S-Video, HDMI, etc

If you don't know the model numbers, you can find these on a sticker on the back of the TV and DVD player. If you don't know the technical term for the type of cable used to connect the DVD player to the TV, please describe it as best as possible, e.g. how many plugs/jacks are on each end of the cable and whether the plugs/jacks are color-coded.

First make sure you check what input is the dvd going into on your tv. after that with your remote control on tv select the input for that port. Your dvd will work fine.

I have a spectronics tv....get a no signal across the screen...HDMI cable connecting tv to cable box U-verse. Happening more frequently now

Does this do the same thing on say a DVD player? could be your HDMI cable, your U-verse box & lastly the Main-I/O PCB. I'm thinking the most likely issue is with U-verse.

Connecting a wii system to a sanyo DP26648 tv

It has to do with the type of input - Video2 and 3 are Component video inputs, requiring a 3- wire component video cable (Red,blue, green for video, red/white below for audio). Video 1 is for analog equipment (Yellow for the video, red and white for the audio). Unless your Wii comes with a component video out cable and jacks (same red blue green), you'll have to use video 1 for the Wii, and use Video 2 for the dvd. You'll need a component video (3-wire) cable for your dvd, which should have the jacks for it. You can use the present cable you're using for the dvd, but you'll have to change the connections on the back of the dvd to component video out, and you'll still need another 2-wire cable to connect the audio out on the dvd to the audio in on Video 2 on the tv.

Here's the manual for your tv - look on page 8 for these connections. the Wii will be an analog connnection, the dvd will be a digital connection.

Hope this helps!
