When I put a label sheet thru the HP 1020 printer a few times it becomes dirty looking & not white any more.

Most likely to be a page feed problem, look online to clean page feeder rubber rollers.

try going to driver printing preferences /paper or paper/quality tab and set your size for custom and to the 4 x 6 specific size for that sheet and the type as labels for tray 1.

1. Check and/or Remove Paper from top output assembly.

2. Clean pick-up roller if it appears to be dirty or have sticky substance, etc. Replace roller if worn or damaged.

3. Check if the top paper output and rollers are free of damage.

4. Cycle Power or partial reset printer

5. Put only 10-25 sheets of plain white letter size paper in the input tray
6. Flip the paper stack over to verify printing on correct side.

Solution!! Use "HP premium Plus Photo Paper" for the paper type setting. Works great with Avery labels & card stock as well. (business cards had the same alignment problem)

convert the doc to a PDF so that the sizes and fonts save. That should fix your issue.

Make sure you fan the paper before putting it in. 20 sheets is usually about right for these printers.

If you put labels in the printer. Only put a few sheet in at a time and put paper stock below them.

either it's a paper stuck under roller, or along that side of the raceway, or the roller on that side is dirty, and can't grab the paper well.

If the printer still have a warranty, then i will suggest you to claim the warranty at the vendor of your printer.

The vendor will fix this or replace it with a new one.

You should bring with you the OR and the warranty.
