If the shrowd and cooling fins were dirty the engine could overheat causing the problem of a broken rod. Also if someone set the engine speed higher that could contribute to the broken connecting rod.

Pull rope will not pull motor locked up?

If the crankshaft won't turn at all, either by the pull rope or by turning the flywheel by hand, it's usually because the connecting rod from the crankshaft journal to the piston is seized to the crankshaft. This is usually caused by running the motor with oil in the crankcase. Worst case you'll have to replace the crankshaft and con-rod. In some cases the journal on the crankshaft can be cleaned up and with a new con-rod you'll be able to use the motor again.

Torque settings conrod bearing 2e engine

tighten with a rachet and a decent socket with the shape of the nut in the end ,tighten to about a grunt and a slight arm muscle strain which is about 50lbs ,in two staged in the book it says 22nm +90? which to me is a load of hog wash ,make sure the shell with the hole in it for the oil spray is in the top con rod end and bit of grease in their as well before you fit the bottom one then a pull down first time with a rachet to firm pull then the second pull ,then turn engine over to make sure its not locked up then do the next one ,the lips in the shells that hold the shell inside the caps normally go together on one side and the con rod oil spray hole should spray towards the thrust side of the piston .

How can i tell if my crankshaft bearing is going out

Hi, if the big end bearing fitted within the con rod on the crankshaft fails it is accompanied by a knocking noise when the engine is running, when the engine is striped and the crankshaft is out, movment of the con rod in an up and down direction while grasping the conrod between finger and thumb indicates big end failure, youmay also notice while rotating the con rod that it locks up, more so in 1 direction. Visual damage bearing cage failure visible from within the oil cut out on the big end of the conrod,
Crankshaft main bearing failure, the main bearings are fitted within the engine cases 1 left and 1 right, failure of this bearing would be movment of the crankshaft ends within the cases, accompanied by a rough vibrating sound.when running,
Hope this helps paul

Have just purchased 1975-76 Z900 cant find any means of checking engine oil level

On the right side case cover, at the bottom towards the rear, there will be a sight glass.
If the oil is dirty, it seems hard to find because it blends in with the motor.

Just remember this, if it has a sight glass, usually the oil cap does not have a dipstick.

If the oil cap has a dipstick, then that is you means of checking oil level

Oil level light show

Check the oil level. engine off; open hood; pull dipstick; wipe with rag and replace. Then pull out again and read the oil level. If it is at the lowest acceptable level, you need to add one quart. If below that, add more. On the valve cover, there is a cap that comes off for you to pour the oil into. Add some oil, wait a few seconds, then check level again at the dipstick. Do not overfill.

Check your owners manual for which oil to use - normally will be 5W-30, but go with the manual's specification.

What is the fork oil level after replacing seals

Here is a manual for your bike....search for English parts of it.....
http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/HUSQVARNA/CR%20125-_M

The manual has directions for taking out parts, putting in SAE 5 or SAE 7.5 fork oil, and then measuring the distance from the top of the fork tube to the top of the oil. It should be 3.5 inches. That doesn't sound right, but maybe that is with the forks compressed, the directions may be indicating that. You could judge by the amount you drained out of the forks. Here are the directions in the manual.......
OIL FORK LEVEL
For the regular fork operation,
both legs must be provided with
the necessary oil quantity.
Remove the forkrods from the
fork to check the oil level inside
the forkrods. Work as follows:
- remove the power rod caps;
- remove springs from the stems
letting the oil drop into the
latter;
- bring forks to stroke end;
- check that the level is at
distance “A” below the upper
limit of rods.
(distance A is 3.5 inches)

How to remove the Harmonic Balancer on a 1995 Toyota Camry sedan?

4. REMOVE ENGINE BALANCER
(a) Uniformly loosen and remove the 6 bolts in several
passes, in the sequence shown.
(b) Remove the engine balancer and spacers
5. CHECK CONNECTING ROD THRUST CLEARANCE
Using a dial indicator, measure the thrust clearance
while moving the connecting rod back and forth.
Standard thrust clearance:
0.160 − 0.312 mm (0.0063 − 0.0123 in.)
Maximum thrust clearance:
0.35 mm (0.0138 in.)
If the thrust clearance is greater than maximum, re−
place the connecting rod assembly. If necessary, re−
place the crankshaft.
6. REMOVE CONNECTING ROD CAPS AND CHECK
OIL CLEARANCE
(a) Check the matchmarks on the connecting rod and cap
to ensure correct reassembly.

(b) Remove the 2 connecting rod cap nuts.

(c) Using a plastic−faced hammer, lightly tap the con
necting rod bolts and lift off the connecting rod cap.
HINT: Keep the lower bearing inserted with the con
necting rod cap.
