VinoTemp VT60

Step 1:
It's most likely the PTC (Positive Temperature Compensated) start relay that turns the compressor on and off. The manufacturer has replaced part number P6R8MC with part number 6R8MG for this PTC start relay. Order part number 6R8MG, it cost less than $20 from AppliancePartsPro
First, unplug the wine cooler and take off the back panel. The back panel is held into place with several philips head screws.

Step 2:
Locate the compressor. You'll find the compressor in the bottom left corner of the VT-60 as viewed from the back. You will see copper tubes coming out of the compressor. These tubes carry the compressed refrigerant to the evaporator assembly. Be careful not to crimp or damage the copper tubing.
Step 3:
Find the black plastic cover to the left of the compressor. This cover is held into place with one philips head screw. Remove the screw and remove the cover to find the PTC start relay.
Step 4:
The relay is connected to the compressor by a single blade connector and two pins which protrude from the compressor. Remove the blade connector and pull the PTC relay to the left, sliding it off the pins attached to the compressor.

Step 5:
Slide the relay on the connector pins, reattach the blade connector, reattach the black pastic cover over the relay, reattach the back panel onto the VT-60 and you're done.

I am replacing the cylinder sleeve and compression ring on my Craftsman air compressor model 919165020. Searspartsdirect says that I need two compression rings. Is this right? My compressor only had one... This is the exploded view that I used.

67 head 65 gasket 64 reed valve plate 63 ring, this one goes under the reed valve plate 62 screw that goes thru the 61 piston 60is a ring that sets on the top of the connecting rod screw the piston with the ring into the top of the connecting rod then take the connecting rod end cap off and cover the studs with some rubber tubing. This will protect the crankshaft when you push connecting rod and piston assembly in to the sleeve that is seated in the block. The ring should be flexible enough to push into the sleeve,if not a bit of oil should help.Guide the connecting rod on to the the crank shaft.I hope this helps and thank you for using

My compressor quit working when i flip the on switch it does nothing any ideas what is wrong???

If the tank is full (pressurized): Nothing will happen when the switch is turned on. Bleed some air from the tank to see if the motor turns on when the pressure drops.

If the tank is empty or low on pressure: First check the circuit breaker to the outlet the compressor is plugged into. Next, somewhere on the compressor, usually on the motor, there is a circuit breaker. They are usually a small round white or black button that if tripped will stick out about 1/4 inch or more. Push that back in and check to see if your motor runs. The usual reason for these circuit breakers to pop is because the compressor is being run on an extension cord. Rule of thumb for compressors: run longer air lines, NEVER use extension cords. If it is absolutely necessary to run an extension cord it should be 10-guage and no longer than 25 feet.

My compressor runs but is not filling the tank. Sears wants more to repair it that it will cost to replace.

Take the exhaust tube from the compressor and run it for a moment or two with your finger over the exhaust port--it should try to blow your finger away. If no pressure, remove the cylinder head from the compressor and inspect the valves in the head assembly. Reeds or discs, if any are cracked or broken, replace same from: Make sure the valve seats are in good condition--if not, you may need to replace the cylinder head from the same source. Make sure the piston(s) move up and down when turning the compressor pulley. Inspect the piston top(s) and cylinder wall(s) for excess wear or other damage. The only other problem would be a hissing leak from some tank component. Hope this helps!

Low air pressure

This sounds like it is either the pump is leaking from the piston or more commonly, the rubber seal that seals the outlet tube to the cylinder head blew out like mine. Let me guess, it got a lot louder than it was originally? The seals are readily available from sears parts direct, its like 3 bucks but shipping is around $8. Hope this helped

I have a Ingersoll rand 4000 5hp 60 gal single stage that was doing the same thing. It ended up being a proken reed valve. I ordered the reed valve kit (comes assembled on the plate) installed it in about 15 minutes, I'm not sure your craftsman is laid out the same way but it was a easy instalation. I pulled the 6 bolts out of the pump head and the hole valve plate underneath was replaced with new gaskets and re installed the head with the 6 bolts (torqued to 20FP) and it's pumping like a champ again. Remember to always disconnect from your power source so there's no accidents. The kit cost $114 and I had to purchase the correct 6mm allen wrench socket to fit my 1/2" drive torque wrench. I hope that helps you out.

Air compressor will not switch on craftsman 1.5 15gal upright mod #919-166442

Make sure that your outlet has power to it. With the compressor unplugged, open the cap on the pressure switch. Work the on/off switch and see if the contacts are engaging/disengaging. If they are carbonized, you can clean them with a fine sandpaper or emery board. Look for loose wiring and tighten all wiring connections.

I need a switch for an old Craftsman Sabre Saw Mod. 315.17180. Sears says they no longer carry that part.

Craftsman doesnt carry parts for tools once they hit ten years old. However, you can bypass the switch - that is remove it and just connect the two wires together. Then plug it into any power bar that has a switch.
