Question about InFocus Proxima DP6155 Multimedia Projector

Open Question

DP6155 Shuts down after short time

I have two DP6155 projectors. They seam to both have the same issue. They will work for about a minute and then shutdown. If I setup the projector upside down with no inputs and turn it on it runs for a long time with the white default screen. Is this a power supply or heat issue?
Thanks,
Steve

I have a DP6155 and untill i replaced the blub and reset thr projector it was the best thing since sliced bread, but now it wont saty on long enough for you to go to the bathroom and back before it shuts down. I replaced the fan in front of the blub, it runs alot faster and seems to keep the blub cooler.

But the new fan still dose not help the "shuting on and off problam".

    Any help would be nice.

having same issue with philips cbright xg2, changed bulb and reset counter. Projector runs fine with no input. But with video input it shuts down after a few minutes. Took apart and cleaned, had no effect on problem.

Just picked up a dp6155. Plug in the power and it clicks, sounds like from the speaker. Then the yellow power comes on and I press the power switch and shazaam it fires up to the white proxima screen. 60 seconds maybe then it shuts down and starts clicking again.

Seems like when it's cold (50 degrees) it would run a little longer.

Also seems that as soon as I apply VGA to VGA 2 it shuts down if it is running long enough to get to that.

Nice bright projector if you want to see the proxima logo for a minute or 2.

    I'd love to fix this.

    Thanks

Same problem here. Shuts down when it locates an input. The power supply side seems warmer. Must be a cooling issue, but will search more.

SOURCE: the picture become upside down

You need to change it to front/ceiling in the menu function of the projector.

SOURCE: White vertical line on left side of screen

omg, I just figured out why OUR projector was doing this! There was an adaptor plugged into it that we use to hook it up to cable to watch games/tv shows sometimes...once I unplugged that from the projector the lines dissapeared!

SOURCE: projector lamp shows blue on white screen

the red is cutting out. white=blue+green+red. without red, you get blu+green, or cyan. if this was an lcd projector, i'd say it's a burnt light filter, the red lcd, or the lcd has come unplugged. but since this is a dlp projector, you have either a dmd board issue or a main board issue. either way, it'll be pricey.

What could be the issue if my projector turns itself off after only running for 1-2 minutes?

It maybe a problem with your lamp as they can run for a short while then shut down.
When it shuts down do you get the lamp or temp indicator coming on?

Keeps turning off

So, Shutting down to protect itself. The error light says it needs service, Cycling power makes it work for a few more minutes, then the Panasonic safety circuit shuts it down. Projector shuts down when bulb life gets to the danger zone, and also when its heat sensor says there is a problem.
So you have a bulb life issue or you have a dirty projector / fan cooling issue??

I say clean it up with some compressed air when it is cool, then check the # of hours the bulb has on it (in the menu).

Lastly brace yourself, the bulb is gonna hurt you :-$

My proxima dp6155 projector after any time looks with a vertical purple line in the right side, whats the problem

reset the settings to factory default. there may be a resolution issue. make sure it matches the source. if the line is straight and goes right along the pixel line, you may have an lcd issue. if it's blurred, it could be a bad polarizer.

Need part number for DP6155 blue polarizer

unfortunately, parts are no longer made for that model and the fried polarizer is a common problem. there aren't many of them out there anymore. you might check ebay, but chances are they'll all have the same issue. good luck.

Powers up but shuts down right afterward

there is a edge connector on the power supply board that goes into a socket on the main board. this connector gets corroded after a while and needs to be resoldered. you could do it yourself (if you're handy with a soldering iron) or send it in for repair to an infocus authorized service center. try av solutions in ny. they're pretty good.

Viewsonic PJ556d shuts down after 30-60 seconds

My solution sounds dumb, I had the same issue. Took the lamp cover off the bottom. The screws were loose holding in the lamp. Maybe they heat and expand and eventually work their way out and the lamp doesn't make good contact. Just tightened mine up, the unit would power off after 45 minutes prior. Been on now for 5 hours, no trouble.
