Question about Belkin (F5D7231-4) Wireless Router
Likely the reason for this is the network card. Most network cards are 10/100, and this is typically NOT the bottle neck....100 works well for most users. Routers, and other components auto switch to accomodate the connection speed of the connecting NIC.
You may need to get a higher speed card...

Your routers signal strength is dropping for some reason. If your using a laptop or other portable device move closer to the router and see if the problem persists, if it works ok when you are close to it, I suggest you find another place to put the router. Higher up on a wall is a good place to start, if you are trying to receive a signal through walls try to move the router so you have less walls to got through. Of course another more expensive optiong (assuming your router is ok) is to buy a "repeater" this will repeat the signal and you would place this router closer to your machine. It is possible that something is wrong with your router but I would bet its either placement of the router or perhaps the antenna has folded down and you didn't notice it, (you can also buy antennas that will increase the range somewhat. thanks for your question
