Sounds like a diode may have burnt up or if your really lucky it might just be the fuse.!!! You might want to get a secound opinion .But if you know what to look for , which is any component on the motherboard that appears as if had caught fire sader it out amd replace with exact same component which can be ubtained at radio shack.GOOD LUCK TOO YOU!!!!!!!!!
It may be a fruitless effort. The main reason this occurs is that the Picture Tube is drawing too much current and the AKB circuit will not let the video circuit diplay the picture. Outside
of replacing the Picture Tube there is no fix.
You can varify this by turning the screen control up. This is usaully located on the HV transformer and is marked. the other location it may be is on the CRT board. It also would be clearly marked. If you adjust this slightly and the picture appears, the Picture Tube is the problem. I'm betting 100% it's the Tube.
Hope this helps,
Check first for bad solder on the vertical IC, Im not sure for your set as I do not have the service manual, but it may be location IC301. If after resoldering it does not fix it you may have to replace it and you should replace the electrolytic capacitors in the vertical section.
Hope this helps.

I have a KV-27V55 and when I turn the TV on the picture and sound is good for about 30 minutes and then the picture goes off, but the sound is still on. It will come back on after a while. What do I do?
video card went out in the tv. You are saying you need a schematic. Be real careful getting into tvs. They have very large capacitating capacitators in them that can electrocute you. You need to take it to a repair specialist and have them run a check on it. Sounds like the video card to me though.
