SOUND CARD I suspect this is a recurring topic but after I ditched Vista then installed XP I cannot get the soundcard to work. Thanks Ern

I uninstalled everything to do with sound etc, removed the sound card (gameport included), cleaned up the registry, installed a new sound card with gameport and it is now working. With a new soundcard, you get up to date drivers and that, I think, was the problem. MSFFP does not like an old Aztech Soundcard. Drivers for the joystick are included in XP and seem to function OK but I doubt whether you will be able to use it in Vista. I have the handbook if anybody wants a scanned copy.

try downloading the XP driver for your sound card. If that dont work un-install the card in the device manager and restart your system

the sound drivers will not work if you have XP SP2. If you have SP2, the download the MS UAA high def audio and install it first. Then you can install the sound drivers

u can't cause the defaul O/S is Vista and Xp is lower so u can't download xp try to install either vista or windows 7

There are quite a few problems regarding software for vista. I strongly suggest that you re-install xp.

hello. try to find original and alternate drivers. also check numbers (all serial and other) on soundcard, then search for them on internet. google em youll find them. sometimes if vista drivers dont exist try drivers for xp.  by

Please check in the DeviceManager of WinXp for the exact sound device under  Sound Video and game controllers tab.After that goto driverguide.com and download the vista driver for that sound card.

1) Download the drivers from the above site Microsoft UAA drivers and install them First
2) go to " Device Drivers " and right click on the sound one scroll down and upgrade driver it will go on net and find and install them
B4 it can load sound drivers it need the UAA driver first
this should fix it
