In most areas there are usually a number of shops that deal with chain saws. Just take the chain in and they can usually sell bulk chain and will cut it to length and put on the master link for you. That's usually better than trying to figure out what size/model to purchase from a hardware store.

What Stihl chain should actually go with this bar?

Almost all of the Stihl bars that use 3/8" pitch chain on the 3003 mount bars use .050 gauge.
Where the bar says 3/8, it should also list the gauge and number of drive links. Sometimes these are worn off though. The 25" bar should take 84 drive links. (same as most 24" bars in other brands)

I have a 10" mastercraft hawkeye sliding mitre saw and i need to replace the carbon brushes but i can't find brushes anywhere!!

you need to know the size, brushes are all sizes. take the old ones out and measure the size of what is left of the bush. then measure the length of the case it sits in. and take 10mm off the end of the length of the case and that is the size you need. then look on ebay at bushes and look for one's that size. or go on maplins web site If in UK, if in another country look for electrical suppliers they should be able to help with the size you have given them.

I fill the tank with petrol , not 2strike. i think i destroyed the piston. i want parts (pm 484 model)

cost you more to buy the parts than to get a new saw.and thats not even considering the labor which will be twice the parts cost. wrist pin ,connecting rod, rings ,piston
a lot of work with no guarantte that it will run or for how long it will keep running.
I just bought a new 2013 saw for $20.00 more that they wanted for a new carb for my old saw and went from a old worn 14 in
bar and dull , worn out & streched out chain to a brand new never used bar & chain which goes for38.95 at rome depot
so, if i take the price of a new bar & chain off the price of the saw,I got the new power head for only $40.00
I know, thats weird thinking----but not that far out there .

The only reason you should consider fixing your old saw is if its a like 100 cc or something that cost $995.00 only then would it be worth thinking about.

try this saw on for homelite 38cc,16 inch chain & bar with 3 point anti vibration handle ,8 hour cutting ,imcluding many breaks & no numb hands.
reconditioned ,60 day money back warranty $ 79.00 & ship

Chain size

If it was me, I'd measure the chain already on this bike or go to Walmart with a tape measure and measure one there. I assume you don't have any of the paper work that came with the bike originally? What do you intend to do, Are you going to replace the chain ? You can get a kit to replace a broken chain / link, if you need to. You just punch out the rivet on one side with the tool in the kit, then pop in the connector and attach the locking clip . Remember to feed the chain through the frame at the back., before you do this.

How old is the unit? Did you leave gas in it for months?

This 'new' 10% ethanol Gas is a Carburetor killer , It is extremely bad for the 'Paper' Fuel pumps that are in the two cycle carbs

New chain installed, cut for 1/2 hour, chain now sags well below

Place a piece of white paper on the ground
Start your saw and point the tip of the bar at the paper, this will allow you to see if it is oiling or not
I am assuming that we are dealing with a newer saw and not an old manual oiler
Blowing air back through the oil ports in to the oil tank ( with the cap removed and oil tank drained) should help clean out whatever is plugging it.
Once cleared run a bit of diesel through the oil tank, drain it and refill with clean fresh oil
I never use old oil in my saws for just this reason

Hope this helps
