Question about Yamaha Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

My keyboard does not have sound coming from speakers. When I plug in the headphones, sound comes through them. It is plugged in, so batteries are not the issue. This is a recent problem; it has worked fine for the past year. No changes that I can figure out.

It sound as if the built in amplifier for your keyboard has failed, since your headphone output works you know the preamp is working. The easiest solution is to send the left and right (or just the left if you want mono) to an external amp, and just live with it like that. A replacement amp for the internal one will be difficut to find and not easy to replace.

My headphones are plugged all the way in but its coming out of the headphones and speakers , can you help ?

If I uderstand correctly, you mean you have your headphone plugged but SOUND is coming out both from headphon AND speakers?
As I understand your plug socket is defective and you should replace it. This may sound easy but it's not so bacause it means disassemble your tablet.
It it's on warranty, take it for service. If not, you'll have to spend some mone repairing it

It sounds like to me that you blew the speaker. We here at Pro Line Music are Peavey dealers. If you can not check for continuity of the speaker you can bring or send it in. 215-736-8055

The amp power light comes on but there is no power / sound .

Do some tests: Plug a set of headphones into the line outs and tell us which ones if any have sound. Note that only one side of the headphones may have sound and it may be low volume. We need to know if anything is coming fromt he preamp. Makesure the output switch is set to one of the speaker on positions and not just phones.

Have you made sure that the sound options in system preferences are all set, and not muted? Open system preferences, choose sound, go to the output tab. Make sure it's not muted or something silly.

If that's not it, and you're mechanically inclined, you can try opening the mac case and see if the speakers are disconnected. Although, I doubt they are unplugged.
