I had the same problem. I plugged it up and when it said Polaroid I pushed the reset button, and then it turns off and then turns back on, and then its started charging and working. Hope this world for you!

try pressing the reset button on the back side of the case or if you can do that, have an adult or friend with tools (very small screw driver) take of the screw holding the case on and pull out the battery. this should help
