If you have already created the Paypal account then the next thing you have to do is VERIFY it.

Just to be clear, VERIFYING your account is NOT the same as CONFIRMING it.

When you signed up for Paypal they should have sent an email message to your corresponding email account that you listed in the application.

When you open that email, there will be a link and a code to VERIFY your Paypal account. Just follow the instructions in the email message.

Once you VERIFY your account then you can log into the main Paypal website with your email address and password and check out your newly created account.

If you really want to link an actual bank account from your real everyday bank to your Paypal account, then this is where you have to go through the lengthy process of submitting your bank account numbers and bank transit numbers in order to CONFIRM the account.

You actually don't need to CONFIRM the account in order to use it if you don't want to. Many people simply skip the confirmation option and just link their Paypal account to a disposable VISA or MASTERCARD GIFT CARD that you can purchase at pretty much any convenience store.

Just login to your Paypal account (once it is VERIFIED) and go to:

MY ACCOUNT
PROFILE
ADD A CREDIT CARD

Then just fill in the information from the Mastercard Gift card and check that it is listed as your PRIMARY FUNDING SOURCE. Then you will be free to purchase things with your Paypal account as long as there is a sufficient balance left on the Gift Card.

Good luck.

PayPal is an online payment solution that allows its users to pay for online purchases as well as transfer money to others around the world in a variety of currencies.

Account security is paramount to the safe and efficient operation on the PayPal system.
The most basic security measure is password protection.

If you forget your PayPal password, you must either remember it or reset it before you'll be able to access your account.Password Characteristics

PayPal requires that all user passwords must meet certain criteria to ensure a higher level of security.

If you have difficulty accessing your account, it could be because you're entering a password for some other account that does not meet these requirements.

As of March 2011, your PayPal password must contain at least one uppercase letter, one number and one special character.

In addition, your password must be at least eight characters in length.
An example of an acceptable PayPal password is "P@ssword."

Making Guesses

If the password you are trying to use does not meet PayPal's requirements, one possible way to regain access to your account is to make an educated guess at your password with these requirements in mind.

Be careful when guessing, however more than three incorrect guesses will cause you to be locked out of your account. If this happens, you will have to call PayPal and answer a series of security questions to unlock your account.

Requesting a New Password

If you can't remember your password and don't feel like guessing, PayPal gives you the option of resetting your password through an automated system.

When you arrive at the PayPal website, click "Problems with login" and then enter the email address you used when you created the account.

Input the image verification string and click "Continue." PayPal will send an email to the address you provided with instructions on how to reset your password.

Successfully Resetting Your Password

Once you receive the email from PayPal acknowledging your password reset request, click the link in the message to navigate to a secure page on the PayPal website where you can reset your password.

When you set up your account initially, you chose several security questions to help confirm your identity; for example, "What was the name of your first pet?"

After you correctly answer these questions, you can reset your password.
Keep in mind that your new password must adhere to PayPal's requirements and cannot duplicate any password that you have previously used.

Check your email inbox.

If there is a delay in receiving your email confirmation notice, it may be because your email notification preference is set to receive HTML format.

You can find more information on confirming your email address in our Help Center by clicking 'Help' at the top of the page.

To recover your password:

Hi. A long time ago I set up my paypal account but never activated it. Today I tried to set up a new one but was informed I already had an account to my email address. I cant remember my password for that...

Hi,
I suggest using a different email address to set up your account with. Obviously Paypal links the email address you are using with your previous account, so you'll need to change that.
Hope this helps.
