Technically, you have fine sands in the gear chain on zoom lens mechanism. The gear chains are assembly of small plastic gears. If any good size of sand stuck in the gear chain, it need to be repaired by disassembly by technician. You can try this. If the lens is extended and you are able to grab the barrel, we can help the lens to turn by giving an asistant turn (with two fingers) for gear to push out the sand. Otherwise do not force it and let technician take a look. Hope this helps.

Go to the jugglezone.com there is a whole host of solutions for that problem.

also try putting your error message and camera brand on google and see what sites it gives you to check.

I was surfing yesterday and I know I found lots of help sites.

My sanyo vpc e1292 says lens error 0x03110000

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

I dropped the camera in the sand. I turn it on and it says Lens error OX 04110000

You might try a can of compressed air, but I would see if the camera is still in warranty. I had good luck with my Canon, they sent me a new camera!

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html
