The boat has an issue that is for safety only allowing it to work in water, this can cause sputtering. You can try to connect a copper wire between the two copper drive shafts. The range on this boat is not great so that may be part of it.

Why won't my starter crank?

What make vehicle ? Is there a security light lit on the dash. Most all vehicles have a starter relay that is controlled by the PCM engine computer . If there was a problem with the anti-theft system it could act like that . There are a few good videos on you tube . on how to diagnose starter system problems . Your cam an crank correlation problem could be that your timing between the crank an cam are off .

Sometimes starts other times it wont. engine cranks but does not start

Try testing battery to see if it is still good. If so might be a short in writing for ground or starter could be going bad. If not any of these issues please let me know. Good luck. Short to ground could cause your symptoms but a short to ground is easily fixed.

No current to EVO/ABS solonoid fuse in engine compartment

did you check those big square ones that you need a spanner to change, they are usually located in the engine bay with the relays, near the battery these usually have plastic covers on each side covering bolts that need to be removed before the fuse can be removed, these fuses are a simular size and shape as the relays

I have a 2009 cobalt lt. When I turn the ignition switch, it acts like the battery is dead and it barely turns over. So, I figured I'd step on the gas a bit to help it out and surprisingly it starts...

Clearly the battery needs testing - it could have a faulty cell that sometimes is apt to temporarily recover shortly after a load is applied.

If the battery tests ok and is fully charged the starter could be faulty or the battery leads, the engine ground lead in particular. A place to pay attention to is the inside of crimped terminals.

Having an assistant cranking the engine while you feel all the terminals in turn is a good way of finding a faulty or dirty crimp as it is likely to become warmer than the others.

2008 Harley Nighster xl1200n. At mid speeds in higher gears, example being cruizing 55-60 on highway the bike has a sputter, acts as though it is running out of fuel, will sputter for a second or 2 then...

I doubt the battery would cause such an issue. It actually sounds like it could be water (condensation) in the fuel. I would suggest trying dry gas before you do anything else.

I have 2002 Mazda protege LX it runs great most time but sporatically the car will miss then the check eng. lite flashes and then it will stay on maybe a day maybe a month then it goes off and then I wait...

The check engine light comes on when there is a problem with part of the emission system. This too often gets overlooked, and suprisingly many very qualified mechanics do not understand this.

Something that you may want to check, or have checked is the, ( MAF ), " mass air flow ", sensor.
Some of the symptoms are, bad idle, loss of engine's power, stalling, and eventually preventing the
engine from starting, especially in cold weather.

This is usually easy to check;

The sensor is usually located in the air intake duct system, the duct system that the air filter is in )
between the air filter and the engine. Most have a plug with 4 or 5 wires. Very carefully discon-
nect the plug. If the engine doesn't start either remove the battery cables and clean them very
good, or try to jump start the engine. Once the engine is running leave the plug off and go for a
short test drive to see if you notice the engine performing better.

You can drive while this is disconnected, but try not to do that too long. It can cause other
sensors to trigger the, " check engine light ", and over a longer period of time can damage the
catalytic converter.

Some handy people go to a parts store and get, " mass air flow ", cleaner. It does seem to work
well, but you have to follow the instructions very closely.

I hope this is helpful.

I have an '06, 1200 Sportster Custom with 1300 miles on it. The Check Engine light comes on sporatically. I checked the trouble code, and it says the battery voltage is too high. Does this mean the voltage...

Test the output voltage. With a fully charged battery, connect a digital volt ohm meter across the battery. Red meter lead to positive and black meter lead to the negative post. Put the function selector switch in DC VOLTS, 20 VOLT range or there about. Start the engine and bring it to a high idle. The meter shoud read out a voltage and start to climb. If the battery is fully charged, it will settle down in just a short while. It should read between 14.5 and 15.0 volts. If it's higher than this, the regulator should be changed.

Good luck

Definitely try without the battery. These models are known to have a "short" problem, usually with the palm rest, which causes this failure, although it usually is more sporatic, and doesn't happen 100% of the time.
Also, can you remove all but 1 piece of memory.
Good luck, and let us know what happens.
