Question about Teledyne Laars Laars Lite 2 Pool Heater 250,000 Btu / Natural Gas

1 Answer

I have a teladyne telstar tgs 50 natural gas pool heater that keeps shutting off early. I know the tempurature isn't that warm yet. If I turn the temp knob up a bit, than it will ignite and heat for about 30 seconds to a minute and then shut off for a bit and then repeat the cycle, but the water is still cool compared to how warm it should be. Could one of the tempurature limits be bad or whatelse could be wrong? thanks

Hi,

No the issue is not with temperature limits its the main board (the board with the knobs on it) Take it out and see if there is any corrosion on it. If there is corrosion or any sort of rusting etc please replace the main board and the issue will get resolved.

Thanks

If it has been off for a while you probally just have to bleed the gas line out. Shut off the gas valve at the heater and then open the union at the heater. Turn the gas back on till you can smell gas. Shut it down and close the union then turn the gas back on and try it again.

My teledyne Laars Telstar Model TGS-50 spa heater will not stop heating at 104 degrees. I have had it go to over 110 degrees before I shut it down. Whats causing this ?

Without doing more troubleshooting i would have to say that it is the main board (the board with the knobs on it) Take it out and see if there is any corrosion on it.
