There is generally an "F" key that will move the video display between the internal LCD display and an external monitor. You use the FN button with this key. Look for the "F" key with the image of a monitor on it. Then click on the FN key and that particular F key seveal times to see if the image comes up on your external monitor.

You are not offering a solution. The question is what to do, not where to take the monitor. If you can't provide a technical solution, why comment.

Your problem is common with samsung monitors, and there are several posible solutions. Unfortunately they involve the replacement of components on the mainboard. If you are competent to do them, You will find plenty of tips by 'Googling' for Syncmaster 913n repairs. If you are not a service person, I suggest you take your monitor a local one for a quote, though it well might be prohibitive. If your monitor is out of warranty, forget about Samsung service centres.Just buy a new monitor!

Auto adjastment locked

Samsung implements protection into their monitors, which allows to block all settings except brightness and contrast. This "Locked" mode turns on by pressing and holding 'Menu' button for 5 seconds, and turns off by pressing and holding 'Enter' button for 5 sec.
