We have a RONA dual flush toilet. When we flush it takes at least 5 minutes to stop running. It used to take 30 seconds or less. We have tried to remove the flusher mechanism to check the valve but cannot get it off. Not sure what else to try. HELP!

You solved the problem yourself! This toilet is junk! I suggest replacing with something that works such as the Toto Drake.

You might want to try and lubricate the rubber gasket with some silicone grease or plumbers grease. If that doesn't work, follow this link. I'm sure there is information for your toilet at the Dometic website. http://www.dometic.com/enus/Americas/USA/Customer-Support/

SOURCE: Pegusas toilet.

I have the same problem .... I took it apart and found that there is not any screws, nuts bolts, washers .... what it is (was) is a piece of lead (like a sinker on the end of a fishing line) attached to the end of the cable, yes the cable, that hooks into the handle and into the top of the flush mechanism - that yellow plastic tube )the cable goes through it) I was able to take it apart and repair the end of the lead weight with a split shot sinker BB - is the size I used. I also had to deform and cut some of the sinker away since the hole it sits in, is small. When I went to Home Depot to buy/get a repolacement unit, one store told me to call the manufaturer -- Foremost and gave me the number, I lost that piece of paper now that I have time to call again, I was left on hold for 10 minutes the first time. 1-888-256-7551 http://www.foremostcanada.com/warranty.php
I just called and pressed a few buttons, waited 2 minutes, got a live person, she asked me what was wrong, I told her that my handle was just spinning, she asked for my model number 131-926 (found on the inside back of the toilet) when I purchased it (make this up, within this year ... and yes you have the receipt - she never asked for it, just that I had one!) she took my address down and gave me a client number .... tada!

Uberhaus dual flush toilet keeps running

The flapper may not be seating properly after a flush. Even though you say the toilets are brand new, something may be askew in the flushing assembly or may have been affected during installation

How can we stop our 1.5 year old pegasus dual flush toilet from continually running?

Remove the lid from the tank. Verify that the tank is full. Shut off the water to the tank, at the wall. Wait 5 minutes. If the level has fallen in the tank, the flapper valve in the bottom of the tank is the culprit. If the tank remained full, the issue is with either the fill valve assembly or the overflow tube.

When I flush the toilet does flush fine but it makes a gasping sound as it tries to refill the tank. Eventually (after 5 minutes) the tank fills and the gasping stops.

new quality flush valves are inexpensive. suggest you buy a new one at a big box store (Lowe's e.g.) . easy to install, just follow the directions.....a Fluid Master or Gorkie should work fine...$25 or less, probably less.....

it could be the flapper or a bad fill valve. you can easily replace these yourself. they sell kits at lowe's and home depot, or most hardware stores. they are pretty inexpensive and should only take about 15 minutes

This type of flush system can be re presurised quickly by holding down the flush handle for about good 2 minutes, then release , wait for the tank to be refilled with water.
Now you can flush away your inner rotting mess down tube good-by...
