Question about Sparkle Power SPI Power Supply FSP300-60PN 300W ATX P4/ATHLON XP w/12x12cm FAN (PSP30060PN) Power Supply

1 Answer

When i turn my computer on, all fans are confirmed working, but it only runs for a few seconds and then turns off. I have confirmed the heat sinc is properly in place, I confirmed the system is not "over clocked" by pulling the battery on the motherboard and re-inserting to reset. The only thing left is a possible power supply problem... any ideas?

The fans are controlled by the motherboard, not the power supply. Normally the fans will not run and or run to where you can hear them unless the temp reaches a certain point within the case. The computer will warn you if it is overheating.

Have you waited long enough?
Sometimes it can take 5 -10 minutes before it turns on while using heater.

The most common cause of this problem is that the drivers seat heater grid is open or burned out. That is based on 25 years as a Ford dealer technician.

My computer fan afb0712hhd. when i turn it on the fan runs fast for a few seconds, then runs slow and the cycle continues. can you tell what is wrong?

Your fan is following the heat pattern of the CPU. As your computer does more stuff, like runs more applications, it has to work harder to make everything go. This creates heat that needs to be cooled by the fan. The fan usually has 2 settings, low, and high. When the CPU reaches a certain temperature the fan will switch into high gear to help cool it down.

Why does a fan keep turning on and off every few seconds

Hi!
Usually what you'll find is that the fan will turn on and off as the computer heats up and cools down. The fact that it turns on and off every few seconds could imply that either: a) Your computer heats up and cools down very often (not likely) b) Something is causing your computer to not sense the correct heat c) There is something impeding your fan from working properly (most likely).
I would recommend using an air duster to blow all of the dust out of the fan area and see if that improves anything.
Additionally, you can download free software which will monitor your CPU temperature, and that should let you know if you're within a reasonable range (Google for specific numbers).
Good luck! -SJ

When heater is on the fan turns off. when we switch the fan on the heat element turns off but fan comes on. one or the other works but not both at the same time.

In some unit heat mode will start the fan after few seconds. Wait for max 3 minutes. If you turn it to fan mode, fan will only work no cool or heat will respond.

AC/Heat Fan runs continuously and Rear end roaring noise

Sounds like the wheel bearing on the right rear hub may be defective, that would cause the noise if the tires are ok. As far as the fan goes not sure this isn't working as designed.
