Integra DTR 7.8 - front panel display not operable. All other functions OK. Any way to repair myself ?

Perform a master reset. To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode.

Does the vu meter show anything(bars moving up and down when audio is present?If so you may have a blown fuse or bad IC in the amplifier section causing the problem. If there is no indication of audio on the front panel it would be a Microprocessor problem

If you have a volt meter you may try and repair it yourself. First however disconnect the speakers and see if the set still goes into protect. If so you may have shorted output and drive transistors. There will be open resistors near them as well. You can compare the bad channel with a nearby working channel since normally only channel shorts out at a time. Always replace outputs in pairs since they in push pull configuration .

The bad resistor is on the ps board that drives the display, well on mine at least. The resistor is supposed to be 10 ohms at 1/8 watt "i think" i replaced it with a 1/2 watt resistor. Either way its R9310. the board is right behind the display on the right side just behind the volume knob. when open and looking from the back you see it just fine. it's not hard to get out. fairly simple to fix.

You will have a defective processor pcb. You may want to see if you can get Integra to give you a one time repair on this.

Your DTR-7.8 receiver is not 3D compatible. It does not support the new 1.4 HDMI. You have to have 1.4 HDMI and 1.4 cables for the 3D format.

You can bypass your receiver for the video though. Simply run your HDMI cord (1.4) from your Blue Ray to your Projector. Your audio can be ran from your Blue ray to your reciever.

Sony RM-AV3100 remote has no codes to setup with any Integra devices. You have to try its code search method. Sometimes you may find a code. But not sure. Go to the user manaul of that remote. There is proceedings for code search process. The codes are four digits indeed. OK.
