Go to Wal-Mart Electronics dept. and buy a DR9576 Digital Camera battery pack for $14.00, then pry at the seam between the front and back parts of the razor after removing the trim head, dust collector cup, and beard rake assembly from the top of the trimmer and separate the two halfs of the razor. This should allow you to easily remove the battery holder-circuit board-charger plug assembly and pull outthe battery pack which consists of two NiCad batteries which are glued together so as to have opposite polarities next to each other. Carefully using a flat blade jewelers screwdriver, pry the metal tabs off of each end of the batteries and take the DR9576 battery pack which is already joined together in the same configuration and place the flat bar tab onto the end of the pack. Hold the battery holder with the wired side of it facing down, and carefully insert the end of the battery pack you just set the bar style tab onto in the end that has the charging plug closest to it so as to have the plastic "springs"
holding the metal shorting tab {flat bar tab} up against the battery pack. When you do this, be sure to align the battery pack so as to have the other end positive terminal lined up with the red wire with the metal tab on it. As you insert this end of the battery pack into the holder, insert the metal tabs with the wires on them in between the batteries and the plastic holder so that they are pinched up against the ends of the batteries. If you did this right and didn't let the tabs fall out of place, you now have replaced the old batteries with a pack with almost twice the storage capacity as the originals had. Reassemble the razor in the reverse order that you took it apart in and plug the charger into the razor for approximately 36 hours for the initial charge. Also these batteries are NiMH which do not suffer from battery memory which means that they do not have to be nearly dead before they can be recharged in the future. your trimmer should now be fully functioning after complete charge for the first time and should give you years more service while holding the charge for in incredibly long time. Congratulations!!!

Sorry, I neglected to say that because this is a commercially manufactured battery pack, the dimensions on width and shape are about .5 millimeters wider so some slight trimming of the battery holder might be necessary. This can be done with a single-edge razor blade and some care so as not to hurt yourself in the process. Also be very sure to place the battery into the holder paying CAREFUL attention to polarity soyou do not burn yourself on the diode on the board or damage your trimmer/ start a fire as this battery has the power to cause the circuit board to become VERY hot!!! If the case does not want to stay snapped closed after reassembly, simply use a nylon zip-tie around the bottom approximately an inch from the charge plug to hold it closed tightly.

Difficulty positioning the pins for the two blades on shaver head

The blades on the T770 are not supposed to come apart. They are manufactured in such a way that they can not be seperated without breaking the plastic. If yours has come apart, you will need to replace the blade cartridge as there is no way to satifactorily repair them

How do I change the Battery in My Norelco T3000 Beard Trimer

Remove Phillips head screw at bottom of trimmer. Separate body in two being careful to notice how on/off switch is assembled. Unsolder the ni-cad battery from circuit board. Install new ni-cad battery of the same physical size that has solder tabs on it and solder it to the circuit board. I used a ni-hi (nickle metel hydride) instead of ni-cad which had different charging requirements so I limit charge time to no more than 16 hours for a discharged battery. It had been working fine for over a year. Don't forget to apply a few drops of light oil to the cutting blades to extend cutting life. Replacement blades are about $30.00

I have a Norelco Accuvac T770 trimmer that will not hold a charge

I did everything possible to find help as I did not accept the answer from Norelco. They told me that there is no way to change the battery except by a qualified repair shop. I made them admit that they basically made a consumable device so they can get you to buy new shavers in the future - in so many words.

I finally pried the thing open as carefully as I could. Once opened, you will find 2 batteries glued together. They are Ni-Cd 2,4 volt - 600 mAh batteries. Looking all over, the only store that helped me was Battery Plus. There are stores all over the country storeloc.aspx"> .

They sold me two 1.2v 1000mAh batteries for $3.50 each. For another $5 they spot welded them together with tabs for soldering the 2 wires on.

Okay, after getting the new batteries, I went back to my old batteries and slowly pried the tabs of the top. They pretty much snap off as they are only slightly tap welded on.

I then took out my model soldering gun and with a little patience, soldered the two wires on to the new leads on the new batteries.

Within minutes, I had the thing put back together and charging. It works great and now I can tell all of those who said it can't be done - or those who wanted $40 to refurbish it, to go scratch - I GOT MY SHAVER BACK!!!!

We all need to learn to stop living in a consumable world. I have a feeling due to the economy we are facing, we will all try to save money in this manner.

Good Luck!!!
