Question about Netopia 2247NWG-VGx Wireless Router (2247NWGVGX)

Netopia 2247 NWG can't find Atheros AR5007EG WLAN

My new Acer Extensa 5620 laptop with Atheros AR5007EG wireless network adapter can't connect wireless to Netopia 2247 NWG. I ran the installation cd for the router, and it doesn't detect any wireless devices. The biult-in Atheros is turned on and has the latest driver (7.4.2.75). Vista home premium is up to date. No problem connecting with eithernet cable. Any help with establishing wireless connection would be greatly appreciated.

I'm experiencing similar problems with my Samsung NC10 running on XP and with Atheros 5007EG network card, though I can get a connection it's easily dropped.

I have a similar problem. The Network is visible and working with other Laptops. My Laptop with the AR5007EG wireless connection can see my network but on trying to connect immediately produces a dialog that says there is no response from the Network. (Instantaneous response).

Ok heres the solution.
goto start,control panel,performance and maintainance,administrative tools,services.
Scroll down to bottom to WIRELESS ZERO CONFIG,double click and click start.
now exit and wait a minute and your limited or no connectivity should change to connected,
let me know if this helps,
Patrick.

if the new laptop able to connect to the wireless connection then definitely there's something wrong with the old computer.

1) do this on IE7:
A) click tools - internet options - under browsing history click delete then make sure that the first 4 tick boxes have a tick mark - then click delete - then click on apply or ok - then close IE7 then open it up again then try connecting.

B) click tools - internet options - connections - LAN settings
under LAN SETTINGS make sure that there is no tick mark on the PROXY SERVER, if there's one remove the tick mark.
( ONLY A VIRUS CAN PUT A TICK MARK ON PROXY SERVER WITHOUT YOU NOTICING IT.)

try using this steps first and if this wont work try sending me a message so that i can give you some more steps.

At the command-line prompt, try: ping www.ucla.edu
If it responds, then you *DO* have a good Internet connection.

Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error I get this message everytime I try to go to a site "itservices.pvcc.edu

For Windows users, go to Device Manager/Network Adapters/Atheros AR5007EG, and change the power management from Maximum to either normal or off. This helps some users but doesn't seem to help everyone.
With AC power disconnected, still had connection problems when changing power management to 'normal'. I recommend changing the Atheros power management to 'off'.

Another solution that seems to help some is to update the drivers for Atheros WLAN-card (on Windows).

If you need to conserve power, you can turn 'off' the 'wireless' by sliding the momentary switch at the front of the PC (near the wireless LED indicators) to the right once. To turn the wireless back 'on', slide the switch to the right again. An indication on the LCD will tell you if the wireless is 'enabled' or 'disabled' every time you slide the switch. I hope this helped vote

this is not so much a soloution but an idea!
from memory the netopia devices allow you to configure a dmz device by IP or MAC address.

I have had to do something similar but with a buffalo unit instead of your linksys. I ended up having to place the buffalo unitin into a dmz created on the netopia unit. before VPN tunnles were formed correctly.
