Question about Computers & Internet

I have a dell xps 410 and the graphics card is making loud noises even when the computer is turned off. The moniter is also showing very poor quality images. Is there a way to fix it without buying a new graphics card?

No. It sounds like a more serious problem like shorted components.

If your onboard graphics (upp slot..) the lower slot what im assuming your dedicated graphics card. With your dedicated graphics card installed the onboard does not work. Just re-instal the drivers for your dedicated card.

My Dell XPS 410 monitor keeps blinking on and off. As in the green light comes on, and the dell logo appears for a half second before shutting off again. This keeps repeating no matter what I do! What

One bad or faulty lead connection can cause a computer to continue restarting on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty

if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as a faulty electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems

computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free

restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

hope this helps

Dell XPS 410 power supply fan loud and computer is running slow

Hi,

This issue happens when your computer is using or requiring a large amount of power source or the power supply is simply dying out already. You may want to update the BIOS. If the problem perists, replace power supply.

I hope this works for you. Good Luck!

My turntable, cassette player line out does not work on my xps 410. It does however work on an old 98 computer. What can I do for it to work on my 410?

Connect the line OUT on your turntable to the line IN on your computer.

Some sound cards are more sensetive than others so you may require a PRE-AMP between the two items.

These are not too expensive or bulky and available at a large variety of places such as radio shack and many places that sell component audio devices such as recievers etc.

NO VIDEO COMES TO THE MONITER, THE MONITER WORKS WITH OTHER COMPUTERS, ICHANGED THE VIDEO CARD AND STILL NO RESULTS , ALSO THERE IS A LONG BEEPING NOISES THREE TO FOUR TIMES AS I TURN THE POWER BUTTON ON...

It sounds as if your on-board graphics has stopped working. If you have a graphics card to try installing it. That may solve your problem. If not you will have to contact Dell about a motherboard replacement. the last time I looked at a Dell XPS system you can't install a retail motherboard in it.

XPS 1330 screen turns black

My first guess is that your video card is starting to go bad. My second guess is the processor needs to have its heatsink reseated. If it is under warranty I would have dell repair it so you don't incur the charge of a new video card.
